Find out in this report how the two Cloud Data Integration solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."It works with multiple servers and offers high availability."
"IBM is stable and accurate to monitor. It's easy to understand to monitor the data lineage from source to target."
"The ETL tools are probably the most valuable feature. It has an IBM tool, a friendly UI and it makes things more comfortable."
"We like the flexibility of modeling."
"The solution is stable."
"It's a robust solution."
"When we have needed help from the IBM team, they were helpful. Our company is a premium partner so we get fast responses."
"The most valuable feature is the product's versatility to inject data."
"The loading of data is the most valuable feature of Matillion ETL."
"It's been able to do everything we require."
"The most valuable feature of Matillion ETL is the UI experience in which you can drag and drop most of the transformation."
"It has improved the costs of managing my customer’s data."
"It has good integrations with Amazon Redshift and other AWS services."
"Matillion ETL has great Git integration that is perfect and convenient to use."
"Matillion ETL is one hundred percent stable."
"The simplicity of this tool is nice. It has a good graphical user interface. You can also do a lot of generic stuff in the tool. If there is good connectivity to a cloud database, such as Snowflake, and you can have a lot of Snowflake functionality in the tool."
"So, there are some features that are missing. If I compare DataStage to Talend, Talend allows you to write custom code in Java or use these tools in your applications as well if you are building a job application. But in DataStage, it does not allow you to write custom code for any component."
"Currently lacking virtualization ability."
"There could be more customization options for the product."
"What needs improvement in IBM InfoSphere DataStage is its pricing. The pricing for the solution is higher than its competitors, so a lot of the clients my company has worked with prefer other tools over IBM InfoSphere DataStage because of the high price tag. Another area for improvement in the solution stems from a lot of new types of databases, for example, databases in the cloud and big data have become available, and IBM InfoSphere DataStage is working on various connectors for different data sources, but that still isn't up-to-date, meaning that some connectors are missing for modern data sources. The latest version of IBM InfoSphere DataStage also has a complex architecture, so my team faced frequent outages and that should be improved as well."
"Reduced cost would allow more customers to choose the product. It's quite expensive in relation to the cost of other similar solutions."
"The interface needs improvement. It is really too technical. That is the main problem."
"DataStage is quite expensive. It is too hard to find a consultant using DataStage in Turkey."
"Its documentation is not up to the mark. While building APIs, we had a lot of problems trying to get around it because it is not very user-friendly. We tried to get hold of API documentation, but the documentation is not very well thought out. It should be more structured and elaborate. In terms of additional features, I would like to see good reporting on performance and performance-tuning recommendations that can be based on AI. I would also like to see better data profiling information being reported on InfoSphere."
"The tool's lineage is very weak."
"To complete the pipeline, they might want to include some connectors which would put the data into different platforms. This would be helpful."
"There are certain functions that are available in other ETL tools which are still not present in Matillion ETL. It would be good to have more features."
"It can have multi-environment support. We should be able to deploy it in different environments. Its integration with SAP connection is not so nice, which should be improved. It can also support an on-prem database."
"Matillion’s on-premises capabilities don’t allow you to build something customized."
"The product must enhance its near-real-time data capture feature."
"While the UI is good, it could be improved in its efficiency and made easier to use."
"The current version is a bit more limited because it's on a virtual machine, and everything executes on that one virtual machine."
