The installation of the solution is easy.
I don't have any cloud, but there is some setup file available for installation, and I use that.
We use Microsoft VSTS to deploy CI/CD pipelines, so it automatically builds the application and publishes it. Therefore, we don't face any problems.
There are two engineers taking care of the deployment.
The solution doesn't require any maintenance.

The setup process is easy if we are already working on a project. It is complex if we want to create a new project from start to end. The time taken for deployment depends on what kind of project we are working with. In case of any queries, we refer to YouTube videos, ChatGPT, and Google to find the solutions.

It's easy to implement. I just did download it from the net. It was quite easy. You just downloaded and install it. It takes maybe an hour.
View full review »It's very simple to install the solution. First, you need to install it, then, we need to install Xcode for iOS and Android SDK for Android. We need to install the Xamarin profiler when using Visual Studio as well.
It's a big file that you need to download during installation. For Android and iOS, it's something like a 20GB file that needs to be downloaded. Visual Studio is not more than 3GB to 4GB to set up, however, Android SDK is a very big file, which is why it's more than 15GB.

How fast the tool is deployed depends on project to project, but usually deployment is quite efficient and fast. We usually take on average fifteen days to build a feature and deploy it in DevOps.

Deployment varies based on the size of your project.
Small, web-deployed projects take less than five minutes and we are ready to publish the web app to Azure.
For on-premises, we build the DLL and web package in advance. It takes 20-30 minutes to import because you have to upload to the file server, download the package, and import the application.

View full review »Initially, it was a little complex to set up. We needed to learn the different features that we could manage in Visual Studio. Right now, as we have had some time to pick things up, it's very straightforward to use.
In terms of deployment, for example, yesterday, I implemented a new version for one of the plants that we have. The tech was immediately published as we are able to use an option to publish the code. We only select the new version and automatically the code is published. It's very fast to publish a new version for the different tools that we have. In that sense, it doesn't take long to deploy.
Each developer is responsible for publishing his own tools and doesn't require another special group or another special people to deploy the tools that we are managing.

Then it will download the required files and everything from the internet for you, and you go through the installation like any normal program.
The length of time it takes to deploy depends on the features. Visual Studio comes with so many features. It depends on if you are going to choose only Windows development or Windows and mobile development and so on. However, it really depends on the features that you are going to require.
It also depends on the internet speed, as each feature requires extra downloads from the internet.

The initial setup is really easy. You just download it and start it up.
I don't think my company uses much of an implementation strategy. There aren't as many protocols or structures. If we need it, we just download it and begin using it.
I would say the only downside with this setup is that although it's usually pretty clear what libraries you want to include, it is slow to download. You do have to set aside a time when you can start the download. It's best to go off and do something on your own. You'd hate to do it at work, as you'll have to wait and you'll have nothing else to do. It's going to take half an hour to download at least.
Maintenance requirements are extremely low. There's next to none, really.
