VMware Aria Operations for Logs Scalability
The scalability of vRealize Log Insight basically depends upon the licenses you have, whether it's VM-based or code-based licenses. Once you deploy, you don't have to redeploy for the scalability options. You have to go and purchase the required amount of licenses, and once you have your licenses available, you are okay to scale the solution.

We frequently receive requests from the business due to our deep intelligence within the group. Our environment has a substantial footprint, making scalability critical.
VMware Aria Operations for Logs has been instrumental because it facilitates critical alerts via email, set up through SMTP, and through Skyline Collector.
This functionality is invaluable for troubleshooting, especially during outages, helping us to determine whether to contact VMware or our hardware vendor for support. It provides clarity on which vendor to log a case with, enabling us to make precise decisions.
We have different business units with their own machines, and we grant them access to the console. The OS teams for Microsoft and Linux manage the operating systems.
This is what we call a managed environment. Including production access, we're looking at around 300 people due to security reasons; not everyone has access, and those who do have power user access, not an administrator.
I would rate the scalability a ten out of ten.

View full review »The tool is highly scalable because we can add nodes on the fly and quickly integrate them. We don't need to put any host in maintenance mode. It can be easily added on when required. It is quite user-friendly.

I prefer to talk about connection for Log Insight because vRealize is the expert connection for component logs. So we have a lot of components and plug them into their live Log insight.
We have a rich VMware ecosystem with many components: the NSX, the SCCs, the data center, and the SQL. So every component we have is configured with the vRealize. So there are over fifty connections to support logs in general Log Insight.

It is a scalable solution. I can say that I agree with the claims that it can be scaled. It is an awesome product. Organizationally it is able to cover our needs completely. Most likely we have nearly 40,000 fixed logs. There are a lot of things that we can do with Log Insight.

We have some issues regarding space management. We may need to get fully comfortable with the idea of deleting the old logs. We usually have some issues with space and it requires more intervention.

The solution is scalable. It's very easy if you need to add more nodes in the cluster. We have about 30 people using the solution. That's our operations time. Currently, we do not plan to expand usage.

I can't say how scalable Log Insight is because we do not have a big installation, although the solution works well enough for us. I never scaled out with Log Insight.
We have about ten VMware administrators.
