ZoneAlarm Room for Improvement

Although ZoneAlarm runs in the background and doesn't notably slow down most activities, the initial minutes after starting the computer can be a bit sluggish due to the high load of ZoneAlarm. Perhaps the primary area for potential enhancement is to make it faster, ensuring a more seamless experience while maintaining robust security features. To enhance the initial load balancing, there's a need to slightly reduce the high performance or resource requirements during the first few minutes.

The mobile phone applications get slower because of ZoneAlarm. ZoneAlarm should be a light application that does not take too much memory in mobile phones.

One of the first parts that should be improved is the updates. They should release a single update with all the necessary characteristics to avoid being in a cycle of consecutive updates. As a rule, the tool works very well; it fulfills the functions with which it was created, and It goes a little further with security, which seems excellent to me. In the documentation area, they should make it more friendly and specific so as not to go to a support engineer for some basic things. However, rather more complex things should occur in one step.

Normally all companies must validate, take into account, and manage the budget annually. The issue is the cost is high.

It is important to understand that many of these solutions generate false positives. This type of issue should be improved so that we can be a little more efficient.

We'd like better performance of the network equipment. There are high-speed environments where an immediate response is required. It is important to take into account that much of this is going to be seen in the capacity of the infrastructure.

Each of the features available in the installation of the applications is really efficient.

They need to update and improve the features available for Mac. It is here where we have found a deficiency in the installation, configuration, and adjustment of the services. Their services should cover more products or operating systems available in the market in the future.

Currently, the client is only available for the Windows Operating System but it would be good if it were released for Mac OS as well.

There is no centralized management available, so this is something that I would like to see in the future.

As it is not a native Check Point tool, it is not integrated into the Check Point Infinity Portal. We would like to be able to integrate it.

It is also important to improve the public documentation for Check Point. It is not possible that it will take so long to find the appropriate guides for hybrid environments and thus be able to implement the best practices for our infrastructure.

The support is not always so effective. We would like to have SLAs from the support side so that they can be met.

This tool also needs improvements that can be made over time.

I would like it to be integrated with the Check Point centralization solution like Infinity Portal. It would be great to be able to manage it through the same website.

I would like to be able to find the costs of Check Point tools more easily, in a public way. like some other manufacturers.

Since sometimes it is complicated. You have to have a partner for everything, even if they are some simple things that we could do ourselves.

  1. Currently, there are only the clients available for the Windows operating systems family. It would be nice to have the software version with the same functionality for the macOS operating system.
  2. There is no centralized management software for the free version of ZoneAlarm.
  3. Some of our users say that the interface is a little bit outdated for 2020, and want it to be more modern and cozy.
  4. Minor issues with the performance have been reported for the really old laptops that lack the free RAM available.

It creates a lot of popups, which can sometimes become frustrating Its simplicity makes it suitable for small scale end users, but it is not complex enough for implementing a large scale enterprise security solution The pro version, with many important features, is a bit expensive View full review »
