Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The solution can handle a large volume of data.""The solution is stable and reliable.""Unlike relational, where you're linking together multiple tables, with Essbase, you basically define what the dimensions are beforehand, and you define the hierarchy, and then load the data. This allows you to do a pretty sophisticated analysis so that you can drill into it and slice and dice the data.""I have found the most valuable aspect is the user-friendly environment and current features.""The solution is scalable.""Essbase is extremely stable and low-maintenance.""It is highly efficient and easily scalable, particularly for handling large databases.""It helps us fetch specific data sets per users' requirements."

More Oracle Essbase Pros →

"They are introducing AI. There are good forecasting features and machine learning.""It mostly supports enterprise level data. We have millions of records on a daily basis.""I think having the conformed structures makes it a lot easier for end users and pulling reports together.""It's the connectors, the adapters. Built in connectors with different ERPs, you can plug in XL, other sources of data. It's very easy to configure. It's very easy to use.""Oracle OBIEE is very easy to use. Looking at analytics, I think they have come a long way by adding new features like visualization, which is really cool.""The most valuable feature of Oracle OBIEE, for me, would be the Web Catalog. From a development perspective, I do not need any client or any software to be installed on my laptop or desktop. Everything is browser-based, so I just open the browser and start development.""Ability to create our own reports.""The solution has great reporting and forecasting capabilities."

More Oracle OBIEE Pros →

"The solution’s dashboard is very good.""We can create advanced-level reports with the tool. We can get data from different Zoho applications and also from other third-party applications. We can create schedules for syncing data from third parties to Zoho Analytics. We can also use table queries for getting data from more than one table.""It's a very strong analytics tool.""I like the way I can share dashboards and embed dashboards. I normally use embedding. So, I create a dashboard, and I embed it into specific websites. Sharing of the dashboard is seamless, and it is easier than any other visualization platform, even Tableau.""We really like that it's user friendly and has a lot of combinations and charts. They're good compared to other tools. We used a free Elastic product, comparatively, this solution is good because of their support, UI, and connecting to databases is very easy.""Ask Zia is a great feature that I use to quickly decide what improvements I need to make in order to present the data that I want to show.""We moved the data from Zoho Creator to Zoho Analytics and created reports.""It provides insights into leads, information about the team and about various sales activities. The graphical representations in the form of charts is excellent."

Cons
"There is room for improvement in terms of cost-effectiveness.""The ability to drive external reporting out for development could be improved.""It's an expensive product to use.""The initial setup could be simplified.""The initial setup is pretty complex.""Essbase has a programming language, and it has a couple of functions to do forecasting, however, their feature set for that is not that good.""They should improve the solution's performance.""I would like to see an integration with application performance management and a version control management tool."

More Oracle Essbase Cons →

"The documentation in Oracle OBIEE can be more user-friendly.""Expanding beyond pure data reporting and into analytics, or expanding data science, would be areas for improvement.""Warehouse and business intelligence are two different things, but OBIEE also has some warehouse features in it. I would like to see some of those capabilities improved.""The complexity of this product means that you need to have a technical team to develop the reports, although this is also true for products like Microsoft BI and Zoho.""While it is a user-friendly, data-driven tool, the data modeling should be easier to use.""One significant improvement is the need for simplification. The set up could be more intuitive. An enterprise setup with HA and DR are pretty complex and to get a robust solution one has to play around with Real Application Cluster data sources and FAN notifications as well as WebLogic clustering and external load balancers. SSO also is not that simple to set up especially if you want all your Oracle systems to use the same SSO solution, i.e., no cheating with direct LDAP connectivity.""Customer service/technical support gets five out of 10. Sometimes good, sometimes bad.""Particularly on the Cloud, a lot of functionality has yet to be ported."

More Oracle OBIEE Cons →

"There should be more types of graphics available for use in the reports.""The navigation on the interface is not intuitive.""I like the solution's Query Table feature which helps me write SQL queries. We can get data from different tables and then use it to create reports.""The solution does not provide call center facilities for customer support.""They should provide white labeling with a cheaper option. I know they have a white labeling feature in which I can white label Zoho Analytics with my company theme, logo, and URL, but it seems a little expensive. If they can make it cheaper, it would be great. The same is applicable to Tableau.""There is a limitation that we cannot create more than 300 columns in a worksheet on Zoho Analytics.""The support for Zoho Analytics is pathetic.""The solution's tasks and project management tools are weaker than those of its competitors."

    Reviews from Real Users

Sandeep V., Process System Engineer at a comms service provider, tells us, “This solution is very easy for people who are building ad-hoc things. It's an enterprise solution so it can be deployed for a lot of users. There are some great new features that come with the 12c like data visualization, desktop BI Publisher, automation, and interactive dashboards. The product has good features. “

A user who is a CEO at a consultancy relates, “The most valuable feature is the visualization. The data warehousing, data storage, and data wrangling are all features that are in there, and it's one of the better products out there. A good thing is that for large datasets, it's very stable, especially when you have an Oracle database.”

A user who is a Principal Business Intelligence Architect at a computer software company suggests, "It is very biased towards Oracle infrastructure. One of the major red flags we have at the moment against Oracle is that it doesn't support deployment on other cloud providers. We're quite heavily vested in AWS as our infrastructure, and Oracle is yet to formally support deploying on those virtual infrastructure instances. That's quite disappointing, and it also cuts them out of over 70% of the market."

Zoho Reports is a powerful, easy-to-use and highly scalable cloud-based reporting and business intelligence platform for small to medium-sized businesses. Its flexible pay-as-you-go pricing model and scope for customization allow businesses to tailor it to their unique needs.
