We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"I was able to apply basic algorithms through just dragging and dropping.""We leverage KNIME flexibility in order to query data from our database and manipulate them for any ad-hoc business case, before presenting results to stakeholders.""The ETL which helps me to collect, reformat, and load the data from multiple sources into one destination, a storage database.""It is a stable solution...It is a scalable solution.""Since KNIME is a no-code platform, it is easy to work with.""We are able to automate several functions which were done manually. I can integrate several data sets quickly and easily, to support analytics.""We can deploy the solution in a cluster as well.""There are a lot of connectors available in KNIME."

Cons
"The predefined workflows could use a bit of improvement.""It needs more examples, use cases, and MOOC to learn, especially with respect to the algorithms and how to practically create a flow from end-to-end.""KNIME could improve when it comes to large data markets.""The documentation needs a proper rework. ""I would like it to have data visualitation capabilities. Today I'm still creating my own data visualtions tools to present my reports.""If they had a more structured training model it would be very helpful.""In the last update, KNIME started hiding a lot of the nodes. It doesn't mean hiding, but you need to know what you're looking for. Before that, you had just a tree that you could click, and you could get an overview of what kind of nodes do I have. Right now, it's like you need to know which node you need, and then you can start typing, but it's actually more difficult to find them.""They could add more detailed examples of the functionality of every node, how it works and how we can use it, to make things easier at the beginning."

More KNIME Cons →

"Support at universities used to be limited, but I hear this is changing.""I would like to see their interface to R added to either Base SAS or SAS Analytics.""The natural language querying and automated preparation of dashboards should be improved.""Once a SAS figure is produced one would like to modify things, such as titles, legends, and incorporate risk sets as a footer on the plots.""The training for SAS Business Intelligence is often difficult to arrange. It is often cancelled due to not enough people being enrolled.""They could enhance the AI capabilities of the product.""The installation could also be easier, and the price could be better.""One of the things that can be simplified is self-service analytics, especially for a citizen developer or a citizen data scientist."

More SAS Analytics Cons →

"The initial setup is challenging if doing it for the first time.""The solution needs an easier interface for the user. The user experience isn't so easy for our clients.""Technical support could be improved.""The user interface of the solution needs improvement. It needs to be more visual.""Virtualization could be much better.""While I don't personally need tutorials, I can't say that it wouldn't be helpful for others to have some to help them navigate and operate the system.""The visualization of the models is not very attractive, so the graphics should be improved.""The product must provide better integration with cloud-native technologies."

That includes the connectors to other programs, databases, and the meta node function. Technical support has been extremely responsive so far. The solution has a very strong and supportive community that shares information and helps each other troubleshoot. The solution is very stable. The initial setup is pretty simple and straightforward.”

Piotr Ś., Test Engineer at ProData Consult, says, “What I like the most is that it works almost out of the box with Random Forest and other Forest nodes.”
