Does a good job of end-to-end integration as well as accessing data from multiple sources or email modes

What is our primary use case?

I am using the product for making machine learning models for particular uses that we have to focus on analytics.

Pros and Cons

  • "This is a drag-and-drop tool which is easy-to-use and yet can be customized by creating your own components."
  • "The GUI interface functions but it could stand to be updated to a more modern look and feel."

What other advice do I have?

I have a really good impression of Alteryx at this point in time. So I would suggest to people who are considering this type of solution to go ahead and try it. If you are looking for a self-service data analytics tool, Alteryx is a good solution. It does a good job of end-to-end integration as well as accessing data from multiple sources or email modes. Then you can push data out to Tableau and Power BI or tools like that if you need other capabilities. So, 'go ahead and try it' would be my recommendation. On a scale from one to ten where ten is the best and one it the worst, I would rate…

User interface is colorful, beautiful, and well-designed but sometimes the solution can be slow

What is our primary use case?

I just use the product for data migration. Once a month, I push data from one Redshift data warehouse to another Redshift data warehouse. I do that by using a simple SQL query.

Pros and Cons

  • "I like the interface, which is probably my favorite part of the solution. It is really user-friendly for an IT person."
  • "I find that it is a little slow during use. It takes more time than I would expect for operations to complete."

What other advice do I have?

Dataiku is a very broad solution that offers many possibilities. If you want to use it you must be fully committed to it. The biggest lesson I learned from using the product is that you can do many things with it. But you must commit the time to discover the tool. On a scale from one to ten where one is the worst and ten is the best, I would rate Dataiku as a seven. It is a little bit of a conservative rating because it is a nice solution and I just use it for a particular task.

Good machine learning algorithms and statistical models, but technical support needs to be more responsive

What is our primary use case?

The primary use case of this solution is for collecting business data and reporting to upper management. Also, I am creating some regulatory and ad-hoc reports.

Pros and Cons

  • "Some of the most valuable features that we are using with some business models are machine learning algorithms, statistical models given to us by the business, and getting data from the database or text files."
  • "Technical support needs some improvement, as they do not respond as quickly as we would like."

What other advice do I have?

In this field, there are some open-source products such as KNIME that may be useful for our purpose, because it lessens the costs. I would rate this solution a seven out of ten.
