We performed a comparison between Apache Airflow, Bizagi, and WorkflowGen based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out what your peers are saying about Camunda, Apache, Pega and others in Business Process Management (BPM)."The best part of Airflow is its direct support for Python, especially because Python is so important for data science, engineering, and design. This makes the programmatic aspect of our work easy for us, and it means we can automate a lot."
"Since it's widely adopted by the community, Apache Airflow is a user-friendly solution."
"This is a simple tool to automate using Python."
"The solution's UI allows me to collect all the information and see the code lines."
"The tool is user-friendly."
"Development on Apache Airflow is really fast, and it's easy to use with the newer updates. Everything is in Python, so it's not hard to understand. They also have a graphical view, so if you are not a programmer and you are just an administrator, you can easily track everything and see if everything is working or not."
"The product is stable."
"Apache Airflow is useful for workflow automation, making it capable of automating pipelines, data pipelines, and data warehouse processes."
"I like that Bizagi is fully compatible with BPMN 2.0. It also eases the way in which we work with BPMN 2.0 itself, which is a comprehensive and rather complex notation standard."
"The documentation capabilities are very good. Very structured documents and process versions are valuable features, and being able to communicate that to our customers is also a very good feature. It has a good balance between the effort and the result. So, you don't need to be too detailed. You can document while you are modeling, which is a very good feature."
"The visualizations and attachments provided by the product are valuable."
"It is quite a stable solution."
"The most valuable feature is the simulation."
"I find Bizagi so user friendly. I also think that its modeling abilities are great and it's easy to teach them to new users."
"The natural notation is the best feature of Bizagi because it makes it compatible with other products."
"It automates a completely manual, complicated process."
"We use it a lot for creating workflows to transfer materials between plants, which is a signature part of what we do."
"I would like to see it more friendly for other use cases."
"Enhancements become necessary when scaling it up from a few thousand workflows to a more extensive scale of five thousand or ten thousand workflows."
"The documentation must be improved."
"I would like to see some no-code capabilities and drag and drop abilities in Airflow."
"For admins, there should be improved logging capabilities because Apache Airflow does have logging, but it's limited to some database data."
"The dashboard is connected into the BPM flow that could be improved."
"UI can be improved with additional user-friendly features for non-programmers and for fewer coding practitioner requirements."
"I want to see Apache Airflow have more integrations with more production-based databases since it is an area where the product lacks currently."
"I'm not really satisfied with the reporting aspect."
"Cloud support for their process mapping tool could be better. To map all your processes in any way and call your data, you need to download their on-premise setup or their desktop setup. Cloud support for process mapping is limited, and they should work on that."
"Bizagi needs a way to define categories such as process groups like the APQC framework, PCF, and handle the processes within it."
"In business process mapping, you have pools and dark pools. I don't see that Bizagi differentiates between a regular pool and a dark pool."
"The product used to have a simulation feature, which I had used quite often. However, it's since been discontinued. It might have originally been a paid feature. It would be nice if they could bring it back and offer it for free."
"The free version could be better. Some of the templates and all the functionalities aren't available in the free version. I've been trying to check some maps, for example, organizational maps or a model on organization hierarchy. Apparently, there seems to be no template. You have to create your own. I am not sure if there are templates, but I've not really seen any. I think that there's room for improvement."
"We have migrated to the cloud, but there are a lot of issues while integrating with the cloud. There are a lot of things to improve with the cloud and reporting. We were previously working with on-premise solutions, and we had access to a lot of things, but with the cloud, they changed a lot of functionalities. Some of the things we know, but with some of the things, we are having difficulties."
"Can be difficult for new users."
"This solution needs to be more customizable."
