We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The technical support of Microsoft Intune is good.""We can securely manage both company-owned devices and personal devices enrolled in our BYOD program.""One of the most valuable aspects of Microsoft Intune is its seamless integration with Azure Active Directory, offering capabilities akin to Group Policy Objects.""I like how Microsoft Intune lets me lock down the email profile and make it accessible only on certain devices.""It is a stable solution.""It provides control over all mobile devices that are being connected to the corporate network.""We have found the solution is capable of scaling.""The most valuable feature is the UEM capabilities."

More Microsoft Intune Pros →

"The solution's ability to scale is good.""Has a variety of automation options.""With AWS Systems Manager, our company can patch our systems directly from it, so we don't need to patch our systems manually.""When we do the automation in the cloud, we use the SSM agent. This helps us to test our automation and documents, and monitor the cloud.""The solution is user-friendly""Systems Manager has a feature where it analyzes the logs and gives us a performance overview in the form of a graph. We know when it's taking up more resources and when there are spikes, so we can predict the usability."

More AWS Systems Manager Pros →

"The most valuable feature of SolarWinds Server Configuration Monitor is version control. For example, if we began on the first of the month and we considered that as the configuration of the server, I could set that configuration as my baseline. On a daily basis, if there was the operations team that did, for example, server patching, the tool will maintain all levels of versions.""The product’s alert feature is good. We receive notifications whenever some failures occur in the configuration."

Cons
"The initial setup is a little bit complex.""It should be simplified. I've worked with many different mobile device management solutions, and Intune is one of the more complex ones. It could be more simplified, and some of it is related to the wording that is being used, such as a configuration profile versus a policy. They really should have had different names to make it less confusing.""Lacking ability to leverage more iOS device management internally.""There is no catalog for mobile access management (MAM) security.""One area for improvement is app deployment. Another is the Windows update rollout. If you're rolling out an object to a device that's offline, Intune stops trying to reach this device after it sits idle for a bit. We are forced to find a workaround that could help manage that.""The technical support could be improved.""From a new user's perspective, it may be a little overwhelming because there are quite a few things to look at in the console, however, once you are sort of acclimated and are familiar with your core functions, it's fairly simple and straightforward.""I would like to see micro VPN. I like the way that some of the other providers have done something similar where, as you open that app on an end-point device, it creates a micro VPN straight into your device, which is quite a nice little feature. Also, Microsoft Intune relies heavily on its fellow products in the suite. It would be nice if Microsoft Intune could stand on its own two feet."

More Microsoft Intune Cons →

"The fact that AWS Systems Manager takes time to complete the patching process, makes it an area where improvements are required.""Additional features can be added as per customer requirements.""We formerly used third-party products to analyze the log, give us information, and find bottlenecks. Systems Manager could provide more tools that conduct this analysis, so we don't have to do it ourselves.""Lacks sufficient integrations.""The current challenge is that we can't pull any incidents from other accounts.""The AWS UIs are not the most intuitive. Also, the usability needs room for improvement."

More AWS Systems Manager Cons →

"In a feature release, they could enhance the reporting. However, we have not evaluated this part of the solution extensively.""The product’s support services and licensing models need improvement."

    Reviews from Real Users

Microsoft Intune stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its ability to secure all devices under its management and the flexibility that the solution offers its users.

A computing services manager notes, "Its security is most valuable. It gives us a way to secure devices, not only those that are steady. We do have a few tablets and other devices, and it is a way for us to secure these devices and manage them. We know they're out there and what's their status. We can manage their life cycle and verify that they're updated properly."

The head of IT engineering at a financial services company writes, "The one feature we find most useful is the Mobile Application Manager. There are two types: we have the complete MDM and the Mobile Application Manager (MAM). We don't give our users phones, it is their own personal phone, and we need to allow them to have access to the company details on their phone. We need to create a balance between their own personal data and the company data. We deploy the Mobile Application Manager for them so that we won't be able to interfere with their own personal data."
