We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It is very stable, and I'm very happy with this solution.""The configuration and the onboarding process are pretty good.""Most important is its ease of use. You plug it in, follow the steps, and you have your backup file.""The most important feature in Barracuda Backup is the ability to archive the backup of emails.""The scalability of the product is fine.""Barracuda's support is probably one of the best things about them, even with all their solutions. With any problem that we have, or even questions, we get the assistance that we need. The turnaround is pretty quick.""It's a one-stop shop, meaning we just program and schedule the backups, decide what is being backed up, and then it automatically replicates and deduplicates.""The performance is good and the interface is user-friendly."

"Technical support is very good.""MSP360 Backup's most valuable feature is its backup interface.""One massive advantage of this solution, as compared to more enterprise products, is that no firewall changes are needed on the client's premises. For the product to back up from the client's premise to the cloud, it just needs port 8 and port 443, which are anyway always open. This was one of the things that made us decide to go with the product. It is very difficult to justify a firewall change for a small client who doesn't even know what a firewall is and how to maintain a firewall, or doesn't have anybody maintaining their firewall. You then have to maintain the firewall. MSP360 Backup takes away firewall change requirements, VPNs, or channels that are needed for the backup.""The initial setup is very easy. It's not overly complex.""Provides connectivity to a lot of different cloud storage solutions.""The best feature is that it's very user-friendly to do scheduled backups and version maintenance.""Block level transfers have significantly reduced the amount of time for transfers over some other solutions""I was mainly concerned with cloud backups, OneDrive backups, consumer OneDrive, business OneDrive, Google backups, and SharePoint backups. The solution did a good job of the backup."

Cons
"The restore time can be improved. The restore time for large quantities of folders is slow. Sometimes, if I'm doing a full recovery of a server, it takes multiple hours, which probably is natural. It might also be because of our internet speed to the cloud.""This solution could be improved with offering lower prices at scale.""I would like to see the Live Boot feature extended to Hyper-V machines, in addition to VMware machines.""In the next release of this solution, I would like to see cloud support and deduplication functionality.""It would be nice to have some reports generated on the usage, but it is not essential.""I am working in some of the more rural areas of Sweden, and some of the customers here are a little bit wary of cloud technology at the moment. It is not like in Gothenburg or Stockholm, where people rely on it so much more. In the rural areas, companies are saying that we do need to use the cloud, and they are being very wary about their data, especially with GDPR and all that kind of stuff. Having more control and having an option for backing up locally, even if you don't want to use it, would be something very good. The cloud backup is brilliant, but there should be an option to take that cloud backup and save it locally as well. If you lose connection to the internet or you lose access to your data in the cloud, having a backup copy of the latest data on your server is helpful. You need to be able to get access to your customers' files, especially with GDPR, where you need to know where your customers' details are. If they're in the cloud and you've lost access to them, then you'll go into those GDPR regulations. This is somewhere where both Barracuda and Veeam haven't gone as far. As far as I have understood, with Veeam, you can back up your local servers to the cloud but not vice versa. I haven't worked on it much.""It is not always stable.""Its speed can be a bit improved, and of course, its pricing can go a lot cheaper."

More Barracuda Intronis Backup Cons →

"The solution needs a better graphical user interface. It's a graphical user interface that is very old-school right now. They could give it a little more modern feel.""The graphics are looking a bit old and should be updated.""Maybe implement an easier interface for basic users. For example, a set-up wizard with all the commonly used features as default.""The product could be more user-friendly.""The interface feels like it is targeted for end users who typically are looking for an all-in-one integrated push button solution. It would be better if the interface had a beginner mode and an expert mode.""Using the solution incurs additional charges for the device storage and backup which are not included in the service.""There are some things that we don't like about it. That is why I was exploring alternatives in a hyper-scale environment. That is why I was checking IT Central Station.""They can add some production backup capabilities and the ability to do single instance back up. At the moment, it doesn't do deduplication on the standard backup. So, the issue is backing up PSG files for customers who have limited bandwidth. The other issue is that I don't like the implementation of the SQL backup. We do use SQL ourselves using a PowerShell script with the VDA tools as a module. That's how we back up. The rotation feature would be nice to have, but I know that they've got it on their dashboard or on their list to look at. They can also do a few tweaks to the dashboard. I would like the reporting capabilities on the portal to be much more granular. Normally, I export it to a text file, and then I run it through a pivot table in order to look at it from a cost-recovery point of view and to see when the backup last ran and if it was successful when it ran two or three days ago. Such a feature would work really well for my market. They can also add a cost-effective backup for Android and Apple cellphones. I've had one or two customers who were looking for this feature. I haven't found this functionality at the moment. I've been looking for a product that does that."

  • "You have two options, which we have. We pay for it bi-monthly. Then, you can purchase the project hours and support annually."
  • "What I like best about Barracuda Backup is the licensing model."
  • "The price of the five-year contract was approximately three million Rupees ($42,000 USD)."
  • "The licensing is charged yearly. It's my understanding that the cost of the solution is somewhere around $7,000 every two years."
