We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
It will protect, give you more robustness, and faster responses, compared to any firewalls or any of the proxy web servers. The most valuable features are the protection against ransomware and phishing. The most valuable feature is that it secures our network against blacklisted or malicious websites.Using this solution has meant that we've needed to make fewer firewall changes. The most valuable feature of this solution is its reliability. The core business of Cisco Umbrella is non-malware. It's nice to have it in the cloud where we can pull the reporting together for it so we can see what's happening in machines at different locations. The most valuable feature is the endpoint security.

Cons
It would be useful if they had a malware protection engine running inside their own VM.I would like to see a graphical representation of the entire network.Support for multiple domains is important to us.I would like to see DLP integration in the next release of this solution.Security, overall, can always be improved. The solution's technical support is not very good. Some countries don't have a DNS server leading to a domain resolution IP, not at a local level. Its DNS service does not support IPv6 query.

It needs to be easier to set up rules for what sites it should allow or not allow us in certain areas of our computer for programs. It would also be nice really nice to have it give you better information about what it's finding. A lot of the alerts we get are very difficult to understand what it's actually telling you. It's too generic. There's a need for increased firewall functionality and capabilities. I'm not seeing a competitive Symantec cloud product. Specifically, functionalities with security as filtering from the cloud. I am aware that there is a product, a proxy in the cloud but I have compared it with other vendors and I don't find it that powerful. I think the worst thing that we're experiencing is very poor and inadequate technical support. It seems to me that tech support engineers aren't qualified to fulfill their job duties.

Pricing and Cost Advice
Cisco has a model called ELA. With ELA, if you buy the solution you will have the complete security portfolio and you can pay it yearly or after three years, it depends on the contract.Licensing fees are paid on a yearly basis. Our licensing fees are on a yearly basis. Our costs were negotiated, and they are okay. There is a one-time cost of approximately $800 USD per user, and then a yearly support fee of about $50 per user. The price could be lower. The product is pricey compared to Cisco Firepower. It needs a better price point.
