Perimeter 81 Valuable Features

The multiple geographical access points with dedicated IP addresses allow the team to deploy site-2-site tunnels with specific IP restrictions as well as configure IP whitelisting on many of our SaaS applications.

The plug-and-play Wireguard site-2-site connector was a great add-on as it allowed the team to just run a script and have our entire GCP network get connected to Perimeter 81 without any manual configuration.

SAML and SCIM support made our life much easier as every new user just logs into the account, gets the correct permissions based on their SSO group enrolment, and is immediately able to access relevant resources, SaaS applications, and environments.

The feature I find most valuable in Perimeter 81 is its user-friendly interface and very quick connection establishment feature. Even after restarting, it tries to quickly reestablish connection which is very helpful. It simplifies the management of multiple users and devices, making administrative tasks efficient and straightforward. This ease of use has saved our IT team time and effort, allowing us to focus on more strategic aspects of network security and management.

The intuitive design and straightforward controls have significantly contributed to a smoother user experience within our organization, ultimately enhancing our productivity and overall satisfaction with the service.

Direct login using Microsoft network credentials and no extra applications or manual inputting of PIN codes is probably the best feature of using Perimeter 81. Our last VPN solution required that users manually input PIN codes to confirm two-factor authentication, and the process was not very user-friendly. Moreover, logging back into Perimeter 81 is relatively user-friendly as I just need to re-type my Windows credentials in to access the VPN. Of course, having to regain access to the VPN is kind of annoying, however, it is still a much better user experience than our previous solution.

For us, SD-WAN is the most valuable feature. They provide a unique advantage for banking purposes and are also different from other solutions. VPN is good for security.

I work on a Macbook Air M1, and I love the small icon at the top of my screen that allows me to see when I am connected to the VPN or not. I don't have to open the app to connect to the VPN - I can just click on the small icon and a small tab opens wherein I can click "Connect". It's simple, easy, and convenient.

The customer support was excellent. They were very helpful whenever we needed assistance. Also, the gateway they provided worked well. The availability of support programs made it easy for us to resolve any issues promptly. The solution itself was quite similar to others we have used, so the strong support was a distinguishing factor.

While the entirety of Perimeter 81's suite is commendable, the quick access LAN feature stands out as a particular favorite in our organization. The ability to swiftly and securely access our local area network without cumbersome processes or technical hitches is invaluable.

This feature not only boosts productivity by ensuring uninterrupted access to essential resources; it also buttresses our cybersecurity measures by ensuring that this access is always secure. The competitors of Perimeter 81 can learn a thing or two.

As a virtual private network, it enables us to communicate through development groups that segment our organization through the correct allocation of bandwidth and easily configured groups.

Being able to add individuals to groups is the single most valuable feature, simple as it may seem. This combined with the underlying protocol makes for a powerful and easy-to-use feature for our organization. Adding and removing individuals is simple and easy to do which adds to the overall convenience and usability.

The solution provides us with:

- An easy way to configure and join the VPN with Perimeter 81. Previously, we were using Amazon workspaces and it took too much time in order to configure the workspace properly in order to just access our Gitlab repository or our logs for just one or two times of use.

- An easy way to find connection problems. You can easily contact Perimeter 81 or check https://status.perimeter81.com to see if some incidents are related to the issue that you have.

The VPN is the main function used. It's valuable to us since it's the only way to access most company websites. All company websites can only be used if users are connected to Perimeter 81. It does not matter what location you are in.

If Perimeter 81 is not connecting, it slows down company productivity. This is why we appreciate the live updates and minimal issues we have when dealing with this product. The faster we work, the more patients are taken care of, and the higher client success rate we can achieve. Perimeter 81's VPN feature helps our company be as efficient as possible.

Works

The Perimeter 81 VPN is fast and secure. It also is very easy to use, with a simple yet elegant UI. I like how this software will automatically turn on my VPN and connect whenever I hop on my machine. The Always On VPN really can't be beaten.

While I'm using this service, I never even notice that I'm using it (due to the overall performance of the program), which is really what you want when you're using a VPN. This has to be the most valuable part of this software, along with the user-friendly interface.

I would say the multiple networks are the most valuable aspects. I think it's cool that, depending on where I'm located, I can join a network with a specific gateway for my region.

I don't exactly know what other features I could be using. Getting more of a tutorial or walkthrough would be awesome. I know our IT team doesn't have time for that kind of thing, however, so I would think it best to come from the solution's team. Even if it was just a quick video or animations that show you new features as you're getting acquainted with the product, that would be great. I wouldn't want a lot of emails, however, maybe a banner pop-up would work from time to time.

The best points of Perimeter 81 are the:

- User experience
- Design
- Ease of use
- Support for mobile and desktop
- Very light mobile app

The other VPN tools have some old interface with a not great user experience. I use a Mac and the interface looks like an old Windows App. Perimeter 81 is very pretty. My phone is an old Android version (I cannot upgrade right now) and I could not use the other tools to access the VPN because their two-step authentication app could not run on my phone. Perimeter 81 app works on old phones and is very lightweight. The battery consumption is very low.

The feature that I have found to be most valuable is the reputation that the company has regarding privacy. Nowadays, this is critical, especially when you do all of your work online.

Similarly, I find that the work that Perimeter 81's customer service team does is very valuable. I have heard from our IT department that Perimeter 81's team is quite knowledgeable and efficient. These are important traits and they describe not only the company's service but the quality of its product as well. So far, our company is very happy with the product.

It connects quickly and stays connected. The user interface is pretty neat too. The app has in-house support with user guides that give you step-by-step walkthroughs on navigating the app. In addition, there is a live chat feature that offers prompt assistance on the go. There is also a diagnostic feature that helps you troubleshoot any issue you have, but I've never had to use this because I haven't had any issues.

Their split tunneling feature has been very valuable to our company since implementing the Perimeter 81 solution.

We were able to configure tunnels to our IP addresses for specific user access, including application access to any devices no matter their location. This has helped me make sure the right users are getting the right access to their work resources to do their daily job.

Also, I am very happy with their MFA feature. It was very easy to integrate with our two-factor authentication and simplified the authorization process for all of our employees to gain network access.

The easy but secure way of logging into the VPN makes mornings easier when logging in. It's a straightforward, 30-second sign-in process without any hassle required. I also found the lack of configuration required by end-users a much-appreciated touch. It's incredibly important that my connection is always stable and reliable. That is what I'd say is valuable about Perimeter 81. I rarely see any complaints on Perimeter 81 amongst other colleagues. This wasn't the case with the last vendor we used at my previous place of employment.

The tool does offer a single sign-on for businesses. This means that I no longer have to remember a separate, individual password for this tool. Other tools require that, which is a big downside as I used to have to retrieve this password from my mails every time that I attempted to perform a login to the service.

With single sign-on, the system will automatically detect who I am and which organization I belong to. This speeds up the process and even a restart of the system will not require me to lose time.
