SAP NetWeaver Scalability

Mehboob AalamMughal - PeerSpot reviewer

Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten. I rate it ten because I have the skill to solve any problem, and I have confidence in myself since I can seek the help of Google and others. So, if I am facing some issues, then I will try to resolve them, and the task will be closed very soon.

I know that more than 500 users are using the solution. Mostly, I deal with enterprise-sized companies.

I would rate the scalability an eight out of ten.

80% of my company's workforce uses this solution. So, it has around 5,000 end users. So, my company is integrated with many daily functions. Once we identify the feature for functional SAP, we process it accordingly.

When comparing the solution with S4 I give the scalability a six out of ten.

We currently have plans to increase our usage of the solution. We manage the use of load balancing and add extra application servers. We monitor the usage and if there is an increase, we add more application servers to NetWeaver to handle the load.

SAP NetWeaver is highly scalable because of its design. You have your database server and several application servers connected to it. It's very easy to add the application server on top of it.

All of the modules people are using in my company, such as production planning, material management, safety distribution, and project system. We have approximately 800 users using the solution.

The system has been okay in terms of scalability. We have 70 or 80 people using SAP that range in roles from plant manager to warehouse, and everything in between.

Several people are constantly requesting access. To do that, we have to submit the request through SAP which requires another set of software. The information is entered then awaits approval from management. The SAP provides a list of people who have access to too many requests.

The scalability of the solution is limited. There are potentially hundreds of users on the solution currently.

Currently, it is very limited. We work with partners to fix their loads on their systems. They have to have separate instances, because the instances are tied to the number of users. However, it is a bit of a tedious process to get this done.

I don't think the solution is scalable. For instance, if we want to scan something, two to three walls, we must use a different approach, different architecture, etc. We know that if we change it, we must go to something different. Something perhaps radically different. Perhaps something small, perhaps something simpler. So right now we are trying to figure it out.
