Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The solution has great open architecture.""I like the Aruba Central platform. It makes a lot of sense. The switches have a lot of great capabilities. Central can lockdown VLANs and control the apps and protocols. There are several built-in security features that I'm not utilizing. However, those capabilities are part of the reason I'm using enterprise switches in a small office. I like knowing that I can do these things when necessary.""The most valuable features of Aruba Switches are the use of use and user-friendliness.""I find the most valuable feature is it is part of the Aruba family.""We like the framework of fabric virtual switching.""All of the networking products that we use are Aruba, so we use Aruba Central to manage them.""It's stable.""I like the number of available throughputs and its ability to have different speeds of ethernet cards or fiber-optic SFPs. It's a core switch, and you can configure it as per your requirements. All the configuration details are well documented on the HP website or Aruba website, and one can easily refer to those and find all the relevant commands from the documentation itself. It's also easy to maintain this solution. It's also cheaper than competing products."

"The installation is straightforward. We did not face any problems.""Cisco Linksys Ethernet Switches are stable since no issues have been reported.""It is very stable. Performance is very good.""It's stable and we never have to worry about it.""The most valuable feature is that we can configure the security to suit our needs.""The most valuable feature is performance.""Overall, they have a good quality product.""I have found their security features the most valuable. These security features are supported on most of the other features. Similarly, the protocols and the standards are supported on other features, such as the stacking feature, the availability feature, internet channel, link application, and protocols. There are so many features on these features."

"It is a stable product.""We use HPE Ethernet Switches to provide solutions for the hotel, their guests, and IPTV.""It's stable. We never have any issues.""The solution is scalable.""The most valuable features of this solution are the interface and configuration. It's very easy to use.""They are affordable and very stable. They also have good performance.""The best feature of this solution is the lifetime warranty.""I like that these switches are reliable, and the support is good."

Cons
"I would say that the customization of the switches could be easier to configure.""It's an expensive product.""The written documentation, all the available documentation, is often a little bit hard to find. The solution lacks documentation, especially on recent features. We have access directly to Aruba, Germany, so they are always helpful, but if you start, for instance, with something a little bit more complex like zero-touch provisioning, that would require a more comprehensive written piece.""I would like to see easier learning and configuration from previous switch deployments.""Aruba is still losing out to Cisco, which continues to dominate the space. Aruba needs to continue to improve its product range in order to compete with Cisco's dominance.""The biggest issue right now is the delivery timeline. It takes too long to get the product.""In the next release, I would like to see network access control on the switches themselves. I would like to see security functionalities when it comes to monitoring the bit of the wireless section of the switches.""There is room for improvement in the customer service and support team."

More Aruba Switches Cons →

"The drawbacks come from support. The tools are rare, but to find someone knowledgeable with Cisco, is a problem.""The additional features which I would like to suggest is to implement user friendly GUI for easier network management.""Cisco Linksys Ethernet Switches should improve its pricing.""It should be cheaper. We need a better price from Cisco. Its initial setup and support should also be improved.""The installation could be simplified.""This product does not scale to environments where there is a lot of network traffic.""The documentation should be improved from Cisco Linksys Ethernet Switches. Although it hints or refers to being able to do certain operations, they try to get you to load the software instead. They need to be more open with their documentation on using the web interface and give the client the option to use the software or not. This improvement is not on the switch itself, it is in the packaging.""The product’s price is a bit high."

More Cisco Linksys Ethernet Switches Cons →

"The security of the solution always has room for improvement.""The management of the tool must be improved.""The installation can be quite complex. However, that may not be the fault of HP and is rather more related to the way our infrastructure is arranged.""In the next release, I would like to see them include more features like the Aruba solution, to have more possibilities concerning the software design.""If there is any fluctuation in power then we will face an outage with our POE switches, so this is something that should be improved.""The pricing could be lowered.""We have some problems with the performance of our HPE Ethernet Switches because they are old.""The next release would benefit from adding a central management that could be deployable on premise and allow you to see the layout of topology."

    Overview

Aruba Switches is a network creation solution that enables users to easily manage every aspect of their networks.

    Benefits of Aruba Switches

Some of the benefits of using Aruba switches include:

    • Easily access and manage every aspect of your networks. Aruba Switches give users a way to control their networks from a centralized location. The simplified control center can be accessed through both the cloud and on-premises devices. Intuitively view and manage every portion of your networks. You will be able to both analyze and control every device and client in the network while at the same time conserving resources for the areas of greatest concern.
    • Troubleshoot and upgrade your networks quickly and efficiently. Aruba Switches give users network visibility in real-time. It combines this with powerful analytics software that allow for the prediction, prevention, and resolution of issues. This allows administrators to act before their systems suffer serious harm. Additionally, Aruba Switches allow systems to maintain a high level of performance even during upgrading.
    • Automatically enact uniform system-wide changes. Aruba Switches gives users the ability to set their systems to automatically reconfigure when changes are necessary. Users are empowered to ensure that their systems run smoothly without worrying that there are parts of their network that are out of sync, reserving manpower and time for more pressing needs.

    Reviews from Real Users

Aruba Switches are cutting-edge network creation tools that stand out among their competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are the warranty that guarantees them and the intuitive way in which they are designed. Aruba Switches are protected by lifetime warranties. If a switch malfunctions or is rendered inoperable, it can be quickly replaced. If the line of switches are still available, HPE will send the user the necessary replacement. Aruba Switches are built to be intuitive for users to customize and manipulate. This allows users to make full use of the solution without requiring them to devote a significant level of resources to training.

The head of technical support at a real estate law firm writes, “One valuable feature about HP is the warranty. All switches are very similar when it comes to most functionalities. Most switches provide a one-year warranty, but with HPE switches, if there's a unit that malfunctions, we call them and they replace it the next business day if that line is still available. We had a switch we reported the other day, it was a 25-10, which we procured way back, around 2014, and they replaced it. In general, HP provides a lot of support for its products. We will be doing some tinkering on the VLAN soon, first the layer two, and then connecting the layer three functionalities for some other departments. The advantage of Aruba compared to other switches is their reliability. If the product is trustworthy, I'll continue to use it.”

A network systems engineer at a financial services firm writes, “Their technical support is great. I have used Cisco products, and as compared to Cisco, Aruba's command-line syntax is not as complex. The command-line interface of Aruba switches is quite intuitive. It also has a graphical user interface. With Cisco, using the graphical user interface for configuration can be complex, whereas Aruba simplifies it, and you can easily use the graphical user interface. The configuration is secured. Their graphical user interface is quite robust.”

Linksys Ethernet Switches bring greater reliability and coverage to your home network.

HP has created the most open, integrated and software-defined networking portfolio and ecosystem of its kind – driving simplification with networks that understand, adapt to and protect your business applications in real-time.
