We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The feature that stands out the most is their action groups. They act like functions or methods and code, allowing us to reuse portions of our tests. That also means we have a single point for maintenance when updates are required. Instead of updating a hundred different test cases, we update one action group, and the test cases using that action group will update.""The orchestration feature is the most valuable. It's like the tourist backend component of BlazeMeter. It allows me to essentially give BlazeMeter multiple JMeter scripts and a YAML file, and it will orchestrate and execute that load test and all those scripts as I define them.""It is a stable solution. When we compare BlazeMeter with other tools in the market, I can say that the solution's overall performance has also been very good in our company.""The most valuable aspect of BlazeMeter is its user-friendly nature, ability to conduct distributed load testing and comprehensive analysis and reporting features. It particularly excels in providing a clear and organized view of load test results.""The product's initial setup phase was straightforward.""One thing that we are doing a lot with the solution, and it's very good, is orchestrating a lot of JMeter agents. This feature has helped us a lot because we can reuse other vendors' performance scripts that they have used with JMeter before.""They have good support documentation and when we have contacted them, they helped to guide us.""The baseline comparison in BlazeMeter is very easy, especially considering the different tests that users can easily compare."

"The product supports a wide variety of technology compared to any other tool.""The solution can scale.""It is feature-rich. It supports most protocols, which is important because I am in charge of a team at the bank, and we do performance testing for all kinds of different applications. We have tons of them. We even do video streams.""This solution is SaaS based so we can utilize cloud technology, which is less time consuming and saves a lot of of money.""The initial setup was straightforward.""The beauty of LoadRunner Cloud is that we can use the load generator that is hosted by us on-premises, and we also have the option to use their hosted load generator. If it is a public-hosted application, we can also use their public-hosted load generator, but in our case, all our applications are hosted in our data center, so we are using the on-premise load generator. We have the option to deploy those load generators as we want.""The most valuable feature is that you can create an infrastructure on-demand and do performance testing with it.""The product’s most valuable feature is the Vuser license; it allows us to reduce the cost as per requirement."

"Stability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten...Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.""Its variety of testing tools for different applications is of great benefit, as well as its integration capabilities with other testing and monitoring solutions.""There are various languages that they allow those programs to be written in, whether you want to use Java or something else.""The most valuable feature depends on what we're doing at the time. In the past, the greatest feature was the ability to record and play back to produce a script. Another great feature is that we can monitor the system. They also support many protocols to perform load testing.""The tool's most valuable features are scripting and automation.""We don't find any features lacking. One of the most beneficial points we have from LoadRunner is we start sizing our infrastructure accordingly. So what we do is when we deploy a new workload, we do performance testing.""I like LoadRunner's ability to use multiple protocols. That's one of the greatest features along with the ability to test service calls between the app and server.""Scaling is definitely one of the best features of this solution. There are no issues scaling to 10,000 or 20,000 concurrent users."

Cons
"The seamless integration with mobiles could be improved.""Version controlling of the test cases and the information, the ability to compare the current version and the previous version within Runscope would be really nice. The history shows who made the changes, but it doesn't compare the changes.""Integration is one of the things lacking in BlazeMeter compared to some newer options.""The only downside of BlazeMeter is that it is a bit expensive.""Integration with APM tools like Dynatrace or AppDynamics needs to be improved.""The tool fails to offer better parameterization to allow it to run the same script across different environments, making it a feature that needs a little improvement.""Lacks an option to include additional users during a test run.""If the solution had better support and the documentation was efficient it would do better in the market."

More BlazeMeter Cons →

"I'd like to see more ability to dive more deeply into the configuration.""I don't know of any features that should be added. The solution isn't lacking anything at this point.""Its scripting features need improvement.""We encounter hurdles while running the professional version for on-premise setup.""Their documentation is not technical enough for us. We would like to have much deeper technical documentation so that we can self-serve without constantly having to go back to them and ask.""An area for improvement is analytics on why response times are slow from certain countries.""It doesn't provide custom reports. You can only use the default reports which contain irrelevant data or is missing data that we need.""It should have a feature to report with a 99.9 percentile success rate."

More OpenText LoadRunner Cloud Cons →

"The debugging capability should be improved.""There's a reporting part of the cloud that could be improved a little bit.""The product is not stable and reliable in the version we are currently using.""The tool needs to work on capture script feature.""The solution must be more user-friendly.""There is room for improvement of the pilot processing, the dump analysis, and forwarding results based on the dump analysis. We have a generator, root controller, different agents, and an analyzer, so all of these are very important when it comes to LoadRunner.""The reporting and GUI have room for improvement.""On a scale of one to ten, where one is low, and ten is high-quality technical support, I rate the support a one."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The licensing fees are billed on a monthly basis and they cost approximately $100 for the basic plan."
  • "The solution is free and open source."
  • "The product isn't cheap, but it isn't the most expensive on the market. During our proof of concept, we discovered that you get what you pay for; we found a cheaper solution we tested to be full of bugs. Therefore, we are willing to pay the higher price tag for the quality BlazeMeter offers."
  • "The overall product is less costly than our past solutions, so we've absolutely saved money."
  • "It's consumption-based pricing but with a ceiling. They're called CVUs, or consumption variable units. We can use API testing, GUI testing, and test data, but everything gets converted into CVUs, so we are free to use the platform in its entirety without getting bogged down by a license for certain testing areas. We know for sure how much we are going to spend."
  • "My company has opted for a pay-as-you-go model, so we don't make use of the free version of the product."
  • "I rate the product's price two on a scale of one to ten, where one is very cheap, and ten is very expensive. The solution is not expensive."
  • "When compared with the cost of the licenses of other tools, BlazeMeter's license price is good."
  • More BlazeMeter Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "The pricing is very reasonable and the licensing is straightforward."
  • "There is no monthly or yearly cost but rather, the fees are based on the amount of traffic that you use."
  • "We make use of virtual user hours. We buy time in the LoadRunner Cloud. It costs around $80,000."
  • "Pricing is dependent on what you're referring to. If you're talking about the cloud, it's likely competitive. However, if you're talking about the on-premise version, professional or enterprise licenses are required. Prices are on the high side. They are not cheap."
  • "The solution is expensive."
  • "It is expensive compared to other tools."
  • "LoadRunner always had expensive pricing. At my company, we used to evaluate LoadRunner, but we stuck with Silk Performer because its pricing was always better in the past. I do feel that I got a fair deal this time. Our value-added reseller and our sales guy worked hard to give us a fair deal. I feel that we got a fair deal. We did not go for the pay-as-you-go deal. I did an upfront package. I prefer that. I want to know what my costs are."
  • "The solution’s price is considerably high."
  • More OpenText LoadRunner Cloud Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "The cost depends greatly on the needs of the testing engagement."
  • "I would still consider LoadRunner as an expensive tool and you get a LoadRunner and the Performance Center."
  • "I don't know the licensing cost, but I think that you would get a discount for normal usage. I think there are different yearly options for different types of usage. It is not only how many users, but also whether it is shareable or not and other criteria involved in each feature. There are additional fees for the users and hardware linked to the processing."
  • "The licensing fees are based on the number of users."
  • "It is competing with other products that may cost significantly less or may be available as open-source. Because of that it is relatively expensive."
  • "LoadRunner Professional is an expensive product."
  • "This is not a cheap product."
  • "There is a licensing cost that is expensive."
