We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable features are the integrated properties and integrated connectivity.""I like Alteryx Designer's drag-and-drop feature, where you drag a component, configure it and quickly run it.""I believe in the ability to connect to multiple data sources, as well as the ease of use to transform data and output data in a variety of formats.""I like Alteryx's browser tool because you can view how your data is handled live. There are many other valuable tools like transpose and the crosstab. You can quickly pivot your data, and there are connections throughout the database. It's so easy to create a connection. If you connect to sign apps or a more complex database, the tool contains all the tools you need.""We use Alteryx Designer for analytics. It's quite helpful because once we set it up, we don't have to manually update or process data repeatedly. It saves time, especially for financial reporting, which is typically done monthly or quarterly. Once we set it up initially, we only need to make occasional updates if necessary.""The functionality of drag and drop is the most valuable. It is a very user-friendly tool that can be understood easily. My teams also work with other solutions, such as Integration Services, and these solutions are very difficult for people who don't have technical knowledge.""Workflow automation, in general, is valuable.""Alteryx Designer is easier to use for machine learning models. However, I am not very good at Python scripts which you will need to make the machine learning scripts."

"An important tool for building prototypes and MVPs than can seamlessly turn into production jobs""It is a stable solution.""I found SnapLogic valuable and what I found most valuable about it was its ETL feature. I also found its automation feature valuable. It can be used for automating manual activities. It can be used as a middleware for certain transactional data processing and minimal datasets and ETL activities.""SnapLogic is an IPA tool that leverages a low code environment to connect to multiple sources, extract data, and store it in Azure data lake.""You can use other languages, such as Python, and easily connect to other systems.""The product is easy to use and has many connectivity options.""The connection with SOAP is the best feature.""It is a scalable solution."

Cons
"An improvement for Alteryx Designer would be faster bug fixes and updates.""When it comes to the pivoting part, the drill-through option is not there in Alteryx.""Improving the key-based sign-on process and making it more user-friendly would be a benefit.""When configuring the Logix, the UA could be improved.""We need more documentation.""Alteryx Designer's pricing and support could be improved.""Its cost can sometimes be a drawback.""It is challenging to view the data using Alteryx Designer."

"Connecting to data behind enterprise firewalls has been tricky.""I am looking for more scheduling options. When it comes to scheduling, there are different tools in the market.""We'd like zero downtime in the future.""The dashboards regarding scheduled tasks need further improvement.""Ultra Pipelines provides real-time ingestion but it needs some adjustment.""SnapLogic doesn't provide any on-premises software, so users have only cloud-based software to use.""There is room for improvement with APM management and how task execution looks.""I don't think the support has better knowledge about technologies and tool support. There were lots of times when we had an issue, and it took me quite a long time to explain the problem. I feel like some of the support staff don't know their product well."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It is too expensive for our country. We are a small country, so it is too difficult to sell this solution. With Alteryx Designer, if you want to automate the data and run the flows, you have to pay more money. We were trying to automate the flows, and we found out that people have to pay 600 more for this feature, which makes it even more expensive. We are a partner for Tableau, and we are working with Tableau Prep, which is like a mini Alteryx. In Tableau Prep, you can drag and drop and make new connections with the different data sources. You can make all the connections. You can also publish a source. You don't have to pay more money with Tableau. You pay like $5 per user per month to access it."
  • "Alteryx is a little bit expensive compared to competing solutions."
  • "Alteryx Designer is an expensive solution."
  • "I rate Alteryx Designer a six out of ten for pricing."
  • "The licenses are expensive, making it difficult to consider acquiring additional licenses to the existing ones."
  • "Each license is something like $4,000."
  • "I rate the price of Alteryx Designer as a five on a scale of one to ten, where one is extremely expensive, and ten is a highly cheap product."
  • "I rate the price of Alteryx Designer a ten on a scale of one to ten, where one is low price and ten is high price."
