We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It is easy to use and developer-friendly. The development time is very short. If any system needs to be changed or any functionality needs to be incorporated to any of the technology, it usually will be a long process, like months. With this innovative tool's automation, it is very dynamic, easy to develop, and deliver results quickly. With some of our use cases, we were able to deliver within the time frame of two to three weeks, which is the biggest plus with this tool.""MetaBot is the most valuable feature. Other products have robotic functionality but MetaBot is a kind of functionality by which code is created... so business users who do not have coding knowledge can drag and drop.""The digital worker is interesting.""The biggest challenge in attended automation, every time the agent has to log in to the control room and execute bot for most of the agents this is a time-consuming activity plus they are not tech-savvy""On the server-side, multiple developers working on a single project can save their individual works and have them stored in a single repository.""We are automatizing redundant activities, releasing employees to do value-added activities.""The advantage of Automation Anywhere is that you don't necessarily have to come from a programming background.""We use AA Client, Bot runners, Control room, IQ Bot, Bot insights. With the AA Client, we are able to automate almost all kinds of automation requirements without any big challenges. We found the availability of the number of commands provided by AA is really helpful to do automation within a small time frame."

"The ease of building automation and the development environment""The user performance is the most valuable feature.""This solution comes with a lot of good features.""I would say that the stability of Blue Prism is superior to any of the competing products because of the maintainability of the features and the openness of the tool.""It's easy to use, the interface, the the the the queries is which we use. It's user friendly.""The platform is user-friendly and easy to learn in a low-code environment.""The corporate leverage is better with Blue Prism. They just present better in a large corporation. It's easier to sell suits and ties than it is sneakers and jeans in financial institutions. That's not really about the application per se; it's the perception.""The most valuable feature of a non-programmer is diagrams. Someone from an IT background can find it easier to start automation."

Cons
"With Citrix, we need a dedicated server to work with it. This has become complicated, as it is not easy to pull all the systems together into one place. It would be better if the Automation Anywhere team could make this easy and simple.""Automation Anywhere is unable to connect to the database directly. What we are doing now is directly writing the PL/SQL scripts and trying to push the data from the database into Automation Anywhere. This feature is available in UiPath, but not in Automation Anywhere.""I think it is a little bit of an ongoing struggle, because we don't deal with the infrastructure. We have a separate infrastructure team that sorts all that out. So, sometimes there are communication issues just trying to get our internal IT team onboard to run through the installs and that sort of thing. But, definitely with the new cloud version coming onboard, we'll be looking toward going to that. Hopefully it'll resolve some of that friction that comes about through the install process and complexity.""It would be great if there will be a built-in machine learning model available in the AA, so the developer can directly map it with their task and train the model accordingly.""One of the things that the product should have is to add more advanced level developer capabilities into the platform. I know it is easy for business, non-technical people. However, for the developers, there should be some more features within the product so they can build advanced level use cases much faster.""We have our limitations. We can run only VBScripts and one more thing. If we want to run Python scripts or batch files, we cannot do it. So, if they would add these extra things in there then that would be beneficial.""The areas that need improvement are the license management, user access permission, user role access management, and technical support.""Automation Anywhere should add a couple of commands which will help most developers not to always use a script, a good example is in String operations."

More Automation Anywhere (AA) Cons →

"It would be useful if some of the information protocols came built within the app instead having to create them.""It could be more flexible.""I personally would like the solution to be supporting more languages.""The product’s pricing needs improvement.""Blue Prism could be more efficient in its resource use. Having one LPR agent per virtual machine wastes resources. If we could execute many applications at the same time, it would improve and optimize the resource used.""The vendor does not make their pricing clear when you are searching for it, which is something that needs to be improved.""The solution is unable to read some UI components in legacy systems.""The AI part is currently missing in Blue Prism Studio... It would be good if the AI part is included in Blue Prism Studio, which can make it much more efficient and good to work."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Pricing is too high for small-scale groups. The Control Room yearly fee is high, making it difficult to break even."
  • "Automation Anywhere is competitive... Pega is somewhat comparable, but Pega also requires a lot more infrastructure and a lot more experience to get up and running."
  • "Automation Anywhere is costlier than the general competition. That is aligned with the share of the market it has."
  • "They're very flexible around pricing and licensing."
  • "They give us a good deal on the licensing because we bundle and customize things. If you ask to get a bulk business deal, you will receive more benefit. If you take other products from the suite, like IQ Bot, you can also receive a deal on the licensing."
  • "We just did a round of price comparison on a global scale and found it's so hard to compare the license prices. But, Automation Anywhere, in general, is on the same price level as the other vendors, a bit lower in some cases."
  • "If you look at the capital expenditure, Automation Anywhere is number two to UiPath. But if you take a long-term view, on a scalable model of a large number of bots coming out, it slowly goes on to become the costliest tool. There is something they can do about that. The capital expenditure goes out right at the point of buying the tool. For Automation Anywhere, I would need to spend $20,000. UiPath can give me something for $6,000, while Blue Prism will come in at $300,000."
  • "It's cheaper than other similar solutions."
  • More Automation Anywhere (AA) Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Pricing can be negotiated in situations where there will be heavy usage."
  • "The licensing structure is complex and the minimum contract length is three years."
  • "We pay about $15,000 per quarter in licensing costs. We don't have to pay for any other extra costs. There isn't, for example, an extra cost for technical support. We just pay the licensing."
  • "There are many RPA solutions available from different vendors and the pricing for Blue Prism is competitive."
  • "Annual licensing costs were somewhere between $5,000 - $10,000 for the development tool. For the control tower, I think fees were about $50,000 annually."
  • "This solution comes at a medium to high price point. They need to work on their pricing to enable smaller enterprises to get the benefit of using the product."
  • "When compared with UiPath, I believe it will be difficult for Blue Prism to maintain its market share."
  • "Blue Prism comes at a higher price point compared to other solutions on the market."
