Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Omada's most valuable aspect is its usability.""The most valuable feature in Omada is the governance. We work with other products and other product vendors, but the sweet spot in the market for Omada is where things are heavy on governance.""It has a very user-friendly interface compared to what we are used to, and it is highly configurable. In the old solution, when we needed to do something, we had to have a programmer sitting next to us, whereas, in Omada Identity, everything is configurable.""The most valuable feature of Omada is its API connectivity, which allows seamless integration with various services like SAP, GRC, and Microsoft licenses.""The most valuable feature is the automatic provisioning and reconciliation of things like the Active Directory groups and memberships.""You can make resources. You can import them from Azure or Active Directory and put them in an application. For example, if there is an application that uses a lot of Active Directory groups, you can make the groups available for people. If they need to access that application, you can tell them the resource groups you have for that application. People can do everything by themselves. They do not need anybody else. They can just go to the Omada portal, and they can do it all by themselves. That is terrific.""The support response time and the freedom from strange bugs and strange things happening in the software are valuable.""We used to have a problem where an employee's access wasn't terminated when they left the company. Now, we have much better visibility into and control over who has access."

"It offers a nice price. It's mid-range.""The most valuable aspects of Symantec Identity Governance and Administration are all the features, it is the most complete solution on the market. It has features, such as scanners and portals, it has everything.""What I found most valuable in Symantec Identity Governance and Administration is its simple GUI. It's also easy to deploy compared to other products. With other products, you have to install the Windows version inside the Windows machine on all units, but with Symantec Identity Governance and Administration, it can work offline, so the solution is a little bit easier than other systems.""Using the implementation guide, I was able to implement the solution with ease.""It's a very useful tool that has improved our client's security, from day one.""Word mining and risk campaigns are the most valuable features of this solution.""I like that it is easy to diagnose. It has a version of a virtual appliance so we can download it, run it, configure it, and it would take about 10 to 15 minutes to configure the cluster or so.""The solution is easy to scale."

"Zero Trust implementation is a great feature.""The most valuable feature is single sign-on.""The solution was easy to deploy.""The most valuable features in VMware Identity Manager for me are the control groups and rules.""The solution is stable.""The most valuable feature is that it will use my credentials to access various parts of the infrastructure or other solutions, such as vRealize.""Its value is when you use it with a Workspace ONE UEM solution as it is part of the ecosystem for VMware Workspace ONE.""When we publish the applications, getting the credentials to log in and keep the application up or running is easy."

Cons
"It is not possible to customize reports on Omada Identity.""They need to improve the cost for small companies.""Omada Identity has a steep learning curve.""In our organization, all the data is event-driven, which means that if an attribute is changed in the source system, it can be updated within a few seconds in all end-user systems. There is room for improvement in Omada regarding that. Omada is still batch-based for some processes, so sometimes it can take an hour or even four hours before the execution is run and the update is sent.""If you find an error and you need it fixed, you have to upgrade. It's not like they say, "Okay, we'll fix this problem for you." You have to upgrade. The last time we upgraded, because there was an error in a previous version, we had to pay 150,000 Danish Krone (about $24,000 at the time of this review) to upgrade our systems... That means that we have to pay to get errors fixed that Omada has made in programming the system. I hope they change this way of looking at things.""The security permission inside Omada needs improvement. It's tricky to set up.""The reporting on the warehouse data and the import process both have room for improvement.""Omada could make it a bit more convenient to send emails based on events automatically. Having that functionality is critical for us to maintain transparency."

More Omada Identity Cons →

"There are times that it takes too long to generate reports and to run the assessment tools to collect the information.""A better information display for the approvals within the workflow would give them more information and the ability to comment back on a request as to why they're rejecting it. We've been telling them we'd like this improvement, and we hope to see it.""The development process to create this connector is not as easy as I would like.""The product has a lot of need for improvement. Our issues are being raised back to the vendor as enhancements.""I find the API boring. I also faced issues while integrating with CA SSO.""They provide a framework to develop your own connectors. A connector is a piece of software that integrates with the solutions that are not a part of the support matrix. Currently, it is difficult to create these connectors in this solution. Other solutions, such as NetIQ Identity, provide a better way to create your own connector. Currently, there is no cloud version. It should have a cloud version.""The support from Symantec Identity Governance and Administration could improve.""It has a large footprint which you'd expect to be much, much smaller. Just to run basic services, we have 10 different servers. Also, if it were easier to manage, that'd be useful."

More Symantec Identity Governance and Administration Cons →

"There are a lot of difficulties whenever people have a lot of configurations in it, basically related to security certificate configurations and integration with VMware Horizon.""I would like better integration for deploying programs with binary files.""it's very dependent on an active directory""I would like to have better support for multi-cloud sessions.""The mobile SSO doesn't work as well on Android.""The license could be better.""There is a need for better user lifecycle management within VMware Identity Manager, along with better user governance...The scalability of the product needs to improve.""The database gets corrupted when used in the cluster. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The pricing is too high for SMBs."
  • "Omada continues to be very competitive on pricing, especially on the Omada cloud product."
  • "The initial total cost of ownership to implement Omada Identity is not small. The TCO for the implementation is as high as any other solution. However, the cost of maintaining the solution is at par or lower than competitors, including adding more features or maintaining the system after the initial deployment or installation to make sure that they are available for users to use or extending the functionalities of those activities. Those maintenance costs are lower than other vendors, but the initial cost of getting the system installed is still high."
  • "It is licensed per managed user per year."
  • "There were a lot of administrator, partner, and supplier accounts for people who were no longer working for us but still in the system. So, we reduced the number of users no longer with the company, which saved us some money on licensing."
  • "It's a fair price for the on-premises system. Compared with what we had before, it's much cheaper and we get all the modules in one. We tried to go with the cloud, but it was far too expensive."
  • "From an on-prem point of view, the cost is quite transparent and reasonable. The direct cost is primarily for licenses and maintenance on licenses."
  • "My client deals directly with the Omada Identity team in terms of licensing. I never look at pricing, so I'm not aware of how much the solution costs, but it's worth the money. Often, when you begin to use Omada Identity and it takes a while to set up, it'll be irreversible, and you'd depend on and focus more on the functionality of the solution, rather than its price tag."

  • "Compared to other options, CA products are not that expensive."
  • "The price is based on the number of users."
  • "Pricing and licensing models are adequate and reasonable."
  • "The connector is free, and bundled with the product."
  • "I do not recall the approximate prices or licensing models, although I do so that it was priced per user number."
  • "The product has a good price in competition with another product with the same solution."
  • "Symantec keeps increasing the price. I rate its pricing a seven on a scale of ten."
  • "The price is flexible for our existing customers."
  • More Symantec Identity Governance and Administration Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "We pay approximately $6.50 per user for the standard version. If you are paying for an enterprise license that includes VDI then it will cost approximately $25 per user on a monthly basis."
  • "Licensing fees are paid on a monthly basis."
  • "A person should pay towards the licensing costs of VMware Identity Manager on a yearly or monthly basis, but government and public sector units cannot for a perpetual licensing model."
