It is an open and flexible platform, allowing users to tailor it to their needs. "One of the features that I enjoyed most was the integration with Azure AD because I could use VMware Identity Manager to standardize the User Principal Name coming from Active Directory. You have Azure AD Connect to do that. In between, if you have vIDM handling it, you can easily get the synchronization of users into your VM and standardize the User Principal Name. If you require quality assurance for handling it, you can actually count on the vIDM to do so. That was one of the main things I enjoyed about the product."
"The most valuable feature is the User Experience Designer, which has been very helpful for our project."
"The most valuable feature is single sign-on."
"Scalability is hard, especially when you are doing it in real time."

"They should lower the price and technical support should be better."
"It tends to be more expensive, but at the end of the day, it works."
"The product has poor reporting and analytic capabilities. Reports are not easy to use and its analytic capabilities are limited."
"They can work on their strategy for the on-premise version. They have to decide whether and for how long they will support the on-premise version. The new features first appear in the cloud, and after that, they are released for the on-premise version. In the cloud, you have more options and flexibility, which is absolutely normal. They have to have a clear strategy regarding whether they'll support the on-premises version with the same focus. The licensing for on-premise and cloud is a little bit different. They can make it the same."
"The advanced provisioning features require more improvement."
"The solution, in general, is quite expensive."
"The mobile SSO doesn't work as well on Android."
"it's very dependent on an active directory"
"We have a lot of problems when it comes to integrating with Active Directory."
"I would like to have better support for multi-cloud sessions."
"I would like better integration for deploying programs with binary files."
"There is a need for better user lifecycle management within VMware Identity Manager, along with better user governance...The scalability of the product needs to improve."
"The security features could always use improvement, although there has already been a huge improvement from years ago."
"The database gets corrupted when used in the cluster. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't."
