The investigation is super and the application management is equally great. It analyzes the domain security helps us implement the securest policy.

The most valuable feature is security.Cisco is the best in giving technical support. There is no doubt about that.It also has high availability. This appliance gives me good visibility in the userbase and their activities. The most valuable feature is that we can use it as a proxy. This solution offers categorization for YouTube and other specific applications from Facebook to WhatsApp, which can be controlled whether it's on mobile or PC.The technical support is good. It is reactive and the documentation is very specific and very useful. The setup was very easy and straightforward.

Cons
Missing a real data leakage prevention solution.Data reporting could be improved. They need to improve analytics so they report on more of the specifics of user activity. In the next release, I would like to see the integration of VDI NSX with Cisco Umbrella. It has happened in the past that Cisco Umbrella has denied us access to secure websites. The reporting could be improved by way of the information that's displayed. For example, when you pull a report, it shows an internal employee going to many websites, but you can spin that right down by saying a lot of it is being cached.I would like to see integration with SecurNX in the future. This solution does not give us full, 360-degree protection.

Setup is not that difficult, but it really requires proper technical training.

The GUI is not user-friendly, so it needs to improve or be simplified. The one thing I don't like about Cisco is that they are very much fragmented in terms of providing the complete solution. They keep on breaking their different feature sets into different boxes. If a user wants to use it for other devices like mobile or smartphones, this product isn't so reliable. The licensing model needs to be more flexible. They need a better graphical interface, and they need a better ISE mechanism.Technical support needs to be improved because they take a very long time and there is no communication or notification. The FTD 21 model's Firepower Threat Defense does not have the multi-instance feature for the virtualization with the physical equipment. The solution is not very compatible with other products.

Pricing and Cost Advice
The licensing part for Umbrella is really flexible. There are three models for licensing with different feature sets.Cisco uses subscription models for the pricing and there are three subscription plans.I am not sure, I don't have the numbers in front of me, but I think it's $1.00 or so per device/month.Cisco has a model called ELA. With ELA, if you buy the solution you will have the complete security portfolio and you can pay it yearly or after three years, it depends on the contract.Licensing fees are paid on a yearly basis. Our licensing fees are on a yearly basis. Our costs were negotiated, and they are okay.

Information Not Available
Regarding Cisco price-wise, it is always on a bit on the higher side.Licensing fees are based on the number of users.I know from the manager that the price is too high and that other solutions offer the same features for less. When you compare the price of this solution to the price of FortiGate, it's high. The pricing is too high.
