Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The real value is our being able to pull all the historic data that we need in order to gather every little metric and nuanced piece of information from a given device, a given piece of infrastructure, in order for us to generate alerts.""Easy admin functionality. You can quickly do all the admin functionality without reducing cycles.""Great out-of-the-box capability.""It is the foundation for our monitoring solution.""I recall the initial setup being straightforward.""It is reliable when it comes to monitoring.""One of the things that I like about DX Infrastructure is that the topology is good enough to see what is happening in the infrastructure. You also get alerts if something is happening in the network. There are many features and benefits. It is serving our customers in knowing exactly how their network is performing in terms of reliability. It also helps them in planning the capacity. They know how much bandwidth the branches are consuming.""The feature that we've found to be very helpful is the way the solution categorizes the devices to identify groups, groups of devices and clusters. This allows us to be aware of their position within the topology."

"The product's initial setup phase is easy with the help of the framework consisting of Microsoft Azure.""I think it's stable, scalable, and flexible.""The managing and monitoring are the solution's most valuable features. They are something I find quite helpful in my work.""The interface is in continuous development and improves version by version.""This solution has improved our organization through the provision of efficient resource utilization and capacity planning.""This is a good product and I recommend it."

Cons
"A useful feature to have would be automatic configuration per standard by new robots that check in for any particular customer.""There is also room for improvement in the reporting. It is not really good enough, according to our customers. So what we now usually do is use Power BI to get them the kinds of reports they want.""The biggest feature that I've been hoping they would enhance on is inventory management: things like adding/removing nodes.""I'm very happy with DX Unified Infrastructure Management, but what could be improved is its user interface because currently, it has many wide spaces. All the information you need is in DX Unified Infrastructure Management, and it's a reliable tool, and though that's more important than the gaps in the user interface being smaller or wider, those gaps still need some improvement. I know the team is working on it. My company had some backend problems with DX Unified Infrastructure Management in the past that have now been solved. The setup for the tool also needs improvement because it's complex. Another room for improvement in DX Unified Infrastructure Management is its technical support because it's sometimes not as knowledgeable or responsive. What I'm suggesting to be added to the tool is an open-standard ELK Elastic-based database where you can put in all data, so that you can use the data in other systems as well.""I would like to see auditability. We've built our own audit functionality to ensure that every CI has the desired model configuration applied to it. And we run that on a daily basis. If that became part of the product, I think it might be a little bit less intensive in terms of resource, because we're doing it with scripts.""It needs a little bit more functionality in the Admin Console.""Currently lacks a mobile application which would be helpful.""Making a GUI with criteria such as selection by robot/hub/probe etc."

"I think that support integration could be improved.""Our customers would like to see the price lowered.""The quality of service and support for this solution needs to be improved.""If the solution could provide better integration to make it easier to manage everything on different servers, that would be helpful. Whatever servers a company has, be it IBM, Dell, etc., if the System Management could be a platform that links all of them together, it would make management across different server types easier.""The return on investment report is too difficult to understand.""The product should increase the processing capacity and allow speedy deployment, as both of them are areas with certain shortcomings where improvements are required."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "This product is expensive compared to other vendors (SolarWinds, ManageEngine)."
  • "The product-price ratio is better than other brands such as Fortinet or SonicWall."
  • "The license cost depends on the number of probes and robots."
  • "Reasonable setup cost and licensing prices."
  • "CAD $400,000 annually."
  • "Customers pay for the license and the support."
  • "Pricing for DX Unified Infrastructure Management isn't cheap at all. It's a complex tool, so you have to pay more. No one is happy with a large bill to pay, but if it's a complex product and you designed a complex solution to be monitored, it'll be your fault that you need to buy an expensive product, and that would be implicit in the design of DX Unified Infrastructure Management. Monitoring is just a small part of it. Sometimes you have to pay a significant amount of money for a complex yet very good solution."

  • "My company has invested 30,00,000 USD in the product."
