We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable feature is the integration with various alert-generating systems because you might have synthetic alerts or monitoring alerts for volume drops.""Provided up to a 90% noise reduction in some our noisy monitoring tools.""The ability to manipulate events via JavaScript getting the exact data that we want."

More Evanios Pros →

"The synthetics, alerts, and native inbuilt capabilities for monitoring the cloud with the New Relic agents have been helpful.""It offers helpful user metrics so we can learn more about the user experience.""It is easier to create new dashboards in the New Relic interface, and it is also easier to query if when I want to monitor a different parameter or time duration on my dashboard.""The most valuable feature of New Relic is its ease of use.""It has in-depth analysis using developer code for someone whose not traditionally a developer.""It is a software solution as a service, so I don't have to manage it on-premise.""We like the performance of the product.""The tool's most valuable features were APM and core reliability. We get alerts whenever an anomaly is detected. The solution is very friendly."

More New Relic Pros →

Cons
"We would like the ability to have an "exit" option for events when they are being processed.""The price could be cheaper.""More complex correlation rules would be nice. The ability to clearly define a parent event in a correlation and nested correlations, specifically."

More Evanios Cons →

"New Relic does enable frontend performance monitoring by default. However, when we are troubleshooting the issue, New Relic is not able to trace back to the service where the issue is. Other solutions, such as Dynatrace are better.""It is very difficult to award the service level cycles at an endpoint level.""They could improve the education process and how people understand that these tools are very technical. Right now, if someone was to pick it up from day one, it is a very steep learning curve.""There were some settings we had issues with.""The solution only supports the cloud platform and not on-premises.""I would like an infrastructure network that provides real-time views, showing the issues.""I would like the ability to set up certain dummy accounts and do the actual things that the customer is doing, without impacting the production environment.""I would like a feature where I can turn off alerting at a policy level. Thus, when a policy is inactive, I can shut down all of my alerts within the policy."

Pricing and Cost Advice
Information Not Available
  • "New Relic is either free with low retention and minimal functionalities, or expensive with full options and retention."
  • "The monthly cost os $1000 per server per month, but it could be even more. We pay about $250 for the server, and then New Relic wants over $1000 to give us statistics on those servers."
  • "Cost is significant with a lot of extras."
  • "It would be nice if we could buy it annually instead of monthly."
  • "If it’s the right tool, it doesn’t matter what it costs because you’re going to get it back many-fold from your productivity."
  • "I recommend using the free version of New Relic. If you like the free version and understand its importance for your company, you can move to the trial. Then, you can migrate to the paid version."
  • "There is a picture which goes to your browser and it monitors requests from other users. However, it's impossible to use now because the price is very high. The feature is very nice, but I tried it during the trial period, and the current price makes it impossible to use."
  • "They gave us aggressive discounts when they were brought in for the first time, but they have also kept them for the year-on-year renewals, which has been absolutely fine."

    Overview

A key component of the Event Management process is consolidation of events from across the enterprise. By consolidating disparate events into a single solution, they can be de-duplicated and correlated. For example, network failure events can be correlated with system failures, and then prioritized based on service impact.

    Reduce the noise

Evanios Integrations allows filtering and processing close to the event source, keeping the weight off of the ServiceNow system for increased performance. Filters are easily configured. EVA, the Evanios consolidation point also has built in event flood control features, to protect against unexpected event storms which can quickly overload traditional integrations.

New Relic is a versatile tool that can be customized to fit the needs of different organizations. Its primary use cases include performance monitoring, time series analysis, infrastructure monitoring, synthetic monitoring of APIs, and providing insight into UI performance. New Relic APM is a popular application monitoring tool that provides in-depth observability of an application's performance, including database queries, website response times, and page load times.

The solution provides clear information and a complete picture of what is happening in the organization's system, allowing for easy monitoring of servers and providing value in code detection and resolution and user experience metrics.
