Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most relevant feature is Omada's reporting engine. Omada never 'forgets' and archives every process. All steps an admin, user, or manager has executed, are recorded in Omada.""The most valuable feature is the automatic provisioning and reconciliation of things like the Active Directory groups and memberships.""We are able to onboard new user accounts much faster by automating the process and standardizing our operations globally. Previously, there were many individual processes and manual admin interactions. We also see a lot of cost savings and benefits because through automation and standardization.""The benefits of Omada Identity include a holistic way of viewing access, the ability to give people access, and automation.""Our customers have benefited from Omada Identity automating the certification process. Most of our customers were using manual methods for user access certification. With Omada Identity, you can automate almost all of it, which means that certification now becomes on demand. You don't have to wait for two or three months to execute a certification timeframe. Instead, you can do certifications as often as you want.""What I like most is that we can always find a solution, and we can also find the cause when something goes wrong. I like that the most because everything is in one way or another traceable. That is what I like most. I like its reliability.""It has a very user-friendly interface compared to what we are used to, and it is highly configurable. In the old solution, when we needed to do something, we had to have a programmer sitting next to us, whereas, in Omada Identity, everything is configurable.""Omada's onboarding features reflect our processes for onboarding new employees well. That is the primary reason we use this solution. We use role-based access control. I'm not sure how much it has improved our security posture, but it's made managing identities more convenient."

"I like that it's open-source, and it's working. It has nice features, and it looks like it's easy to maintain.""The basic setup is straightforward and takes minutes to complete.""Our customers leverage the product as a central component in their identity field management. The process involves connecting it to target systems through connectors. It also helps us in role-based access control implementation."

More EVOLVEUM midPoint Pros →

"The most valuable feature is the security, in particular, the One Time Password support.""Roles, connectors for provisioning and re-accreditation or reviews help greatly to govern user access.""RSA Identity Governance and lifecycles are good for the access certification and auditing sections.""With the tool in place, you need to hire fewer people to provide access, and you have control over your processes.""The data collection is excellent and easy to do. It does not require a lot of configuration nor does it require rules to be written like other competitors do."

Cons
"In our organization, all the data is event-driven, which means that if an attribute is changed in the source system, it can be updated within a few seconds in all end-user systems. There is room for improvement in Omada regarding that. Omada is still batch-based for some processes, so sometimes it can take an hour or even four hours before the execution is run and the update is sent.""The comprehensiveness of Omada's out-of-the-box connectors for the applications we use could be better. We are getting a new HR system called Cornerstone for which they do not have an out-of-the-box connector, so we have to take the REST connector and play around with it.""If you find an error and you need it fixed, you have to upgrade. It's not like they say, "Okay, we'll fix this problem for you." You have to upgrade. The last time we upgraded, because there was an error in a previous version, we had to pay 150,000 Danish Krone (about $24,000 at the time of this review) to upgrade our systems... That means that we have to pay to get errors fixed that Omada has made in programming the system. I hope they change this way of looking at things.""There's a challenge with handling large amounts of data in this system.""What I would most like to see added to the product is role management, especially enterprise or business role management, and the processes around that.""The backend is pretty good but the self-service request access screen, the GUI, needs improvement. It's an old-fashioned screen. Also, Omada has reports, but I wouldn't dare show them to the business because they look like they're from 1995. I know they are working on these things and that’s good, because they’re really needed.""I would like more training. As someone who is new to this world, I don't feel that the courses Omada provides are good enough. They should also improve the documentation. It is difficult to learn how to use the solution by yourself""The UI design needs improvement. One or two years ago, Omada changed its user interface to simplify, but the simplification has not really kicked in."

More Omada Identity Cons →

"One area where I see room for improvement in EVOLVEUM midPoint is enhancing the user interface for configuration. Currently, a significant portion of the configuration involves technical, XML-based settings requiring a higher level of technical expertise.""The support isn't ideal - because the product is open-source, it relies on your own ability to make it work unless you pay for support at a high hourly rate.""I think that the product is missing some of the identity governance functions—for example, the legal stuff and GDPR, and so on. But I think they are currently working on it."

More EVOLVEUM midPoint Cons →

"Technical support in Pakistan can be improved.""The user interface and workflow need improvement, and more connectors would help.""This product is missing a lot of features which other competitors are providing. One of the key features that are missing right now is risk scoring. Additionally, there is not much scope for customization - everything is hard-coded and predefined, so it does not allow the developers to make many modifications.""If you use the appliance version then it won't handle a huge database volume.""RSA Identity Governance and Lifecycle could improve out-of-the-box customization.""Every connector that you have in the product needs to be custom-built, so there are not a lot of standard connectors available in the product, because of which there are a lot of hidden consultancy costs.""There are scalability issues. This product does not scale very well. It is not a good product for load balancing / active–active architecture."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The pricing is too high for SMBs."
  • "Omada continues to be very competitive on pricing, especially on the Omada cloud product."
  • "The initial total cost of ownership to implement Omada Identity is not small. The TCO for the implementation is as high as any other solution. However, the cost of maintaining the solution is at par or lower than competitors, including adding more features or maintaining the system after the initial deployment or installation to make sure that they are available for users to use or extending the functionalities of those activities. Those maintenance costs are lower than other vendors, but the initial cost of getting the system installed is still high."
  • "It is licensed per managed user per year."
  • "There were a lot of administrator, partner, and supplier accounts for people who were no longer working for us but still in the system. So, we reduced the number of users no longer with the company, which saved us some money on licensing."
  • "It's a fair price for the on-premises system. Compared with what we had before, it's much cheaper and we get all the modules in one. We tried to go with the cloud, but it was far too expensive."
  • "From an on-prem point of view, the cost is quite transparent and reasonable. The direct cost is primarily for licenses and maintenance on licenses."
  • "My client deals directly with the Omada Identity team in terms of licensing. I never look at pricing, so I'm not aware of how much the solution costs, but it's worth the money. Often, when you begin to use Omada Identity and it takes a while to set up, it'll be irreversible, and you'd depend on and focus more on the functionality of the solution, rather than its price tag."

  • "We're EVOLVEUM partners, and I tried it without a license."
  • "Licensing is defined by the number of users."
  • "The product is free to use, but a cost is associated if you opt for official product support. Additionally, there is an option for a platform subscription, which entails professional services provided by the vendor."
  • More EVOLVEUM midPoint Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Pricing varies based on user count/number of modules you need."
  • "We are using the cloud platform, but we don't find it compatible to be served as a multi-tenant platform. This is a large drawback. It becomes expensive because it is then an all-dedicated solution. You have to have a separate tenant for each client, which increases the cost. The overall unit pricing can be less expensive than how it is right now."
  • "I rate the product's price a five on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive."
