We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
In terms of stability, I've found it to be very stable. I've walked into the server room when it was at 60 degrees Celcius, and it was still running fine. The most valuable features are the Self-Service, and the ability to search the data.

I really like how you can test the failover as often as you need. The ability to perform DR testing to ensure data integrity is critical. The ability to have a RPO of seconds has enabled us to restore data to just before an incident has occurred, which certainly saves a lot of time and money. We now have the ability to replicate critical data to a secure, off-site location that can be brought back in seconds if needed.Implementing this solution has given us sandboxing and the ability to move VMs.The ability to fully test your entire environment without actually performing a failover is invaluable. It has enabled DR protection for virtual appliances with minimal administrator time.During a failover to a DR site, Zerto can automatically change the IP address of servers.

Cons
The configuration wizards are still complex and hard to navigate. These should be easier to manage.I would like the possibility to back up the infrastructure and then replicate it upon on restart, without having to orchestrate the starting of the VM.

I think Zerto could do better with size planning because it would be nice to analyze a server for a week and give an estimate on sizing the Journal.Increased granularity in how long to keep the journal would be nice.We have had issues with licensing, where the license we've been given by Zerto support doesn't include VSS replication, which was a pain at the time. The email alerts can be excessive, so better control over frequency or resolution may be a worthwhile improvement. The backup functions are in need of improvement. There needs to be more flexibility in the licensing. It would be helpful if the reports can be generated periodically, on a schedule.I would like them to add a VM host replication option. Being able to replicate host configuration between sites would be a huge benefit.

Pricing and Cost Advice
This solution is very expensive.

We found that in an event that was massive enough to cause an entire cluster to go offline we would be happy with our core services up and running. You are getting what you pay for, as this is a solution that requires minimal management after it is configured. While we find the twenty-five VM license somewhat inflexible, the actual setup costs are minimal as the product is so easy to install. The solution is very cost-effective and very easy to set-up but does not compromise on features. We believe the pricing, setup costs, and licensing are easy to understand. The pricing seems very reasonable. It's a little bit expensive.Licensing is VM based so you can buy packages or single VM. Price is not low but the power of application is high, so you will get your money back.
