We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
Good interface, reasonable documentation.Ease and speed of building integrations, especially integrations between different applications, such as our Hospital Information System. The partitioning and optimization to help enhance our development is a very valuable aspect of Informatica PowerCenter. The most valuable feature is the new Data Lake feature, which provides the basic capabilities needed. The most complex task, in this case, was to read and transform BLOB data, and Java transformation in Informatica Power Center was a great solution.Technical support, and their approach is good. They have a support portal and support tickets. If you open a ticket it has multiple levels of severity from level one to very high or critical. The features I find most valuable is that the solution is very user-friendly and the graphical design is very easy to understand. In the end, you have structured, proper data for use in an integrated BI solution.

With the latest version what I find to be the most valuable are the REST, SuccessFactors, and Ariba Network adapters. The standard adapter with EBA abilities is the most valuable feature. It has good process integration.Great monitoring tools and has its own alert framework. The most valuable feature is the seamless integration with backend systems. The product has good technical support but you usually will not need it because it is quite stable. The initial setup is easy. The solution provides very good and central logging systems. It offers high flexibility with vertical and horizontal extend capacity. The monitoring is one of the greatest features in Process Orchestration because it is user-friendly and easy for somebody who is not experienced.

Cons
Lacks ability to calculate cost of the product. The multiple interfaces in Informatica PowerCenter are not great for the user experience. Because of this, I think it can cause confusion for any beginner developer.I found it is kind of weird that not all of the mapping changes are treated as true changes.Include more instruments for LOGs analysis, interpretation, and job corrections. The licensing cost for Informatica is very high. Other all-in-one solutions have much lower prices than Informatica.I would like to see an improvement in the digital adoption.Integration with Artificial Intelligence would benefit this solution. As a connector to big data, it is not well developed. We've had problems connecting Informatica with Hadoop. The functionality to connect Informatica with Hadoop, for me it's not good.

I feel that support is an area that needs improvement. They need to improve the response time and address the customer's issues as soon as possible. The cloud capability features need improvement. The older version of the solution will no longer be supported. It does not have all of the industry-standard solutions available in PO and it is not plug and play, so we have to do a lot of development. The monitoring governance offered by SAP is too technical and needs to be geared more toward business users. In terms of technical support, it would be helpful if they handled the tickets a bit faster when queries are sent to them. The responsiveness of technical support needs to be improved.

Overview

Enterprise data integration platform to help organizations access, transform, and integrate data from a variety of systems.

SAP NetWeaver Process Integration facilitates the integration of business processes that span different departments, organizations, or companies. SAP PI is based on general standards so as to enable 3rd-party systems to be integrated. At the center of SAP PI is an XML-based communication that uses HTTP (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol). Irrespective of the scenario used, the application-specific contents are transferred in messages in user-defined XML eXtensible Markup Language) from the sender to the receiver either via the Integration Server, or directly between the systems involved. SAP PI can be installed in different ways: Dual usage type installation: Based on both AS ABAP and AS Java. and Advanced Adapter Engine Extended (AEX): Based on AS Java only.
