We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable features are security and privacy because you installed it on your server, within your company premises, not in the cloud.""The most valuable features are its ease of use, excellent pricing, and it is platform agnostic.""The user interface is good.""Kerio Connect is secure, flexible, and easy to control from the user interface. It has many security features able to be controlled from one place, such as anti-spam. I have found it very convenient. Additionally, you can analyze log files and share folders which is helpful.""What I like most about Kerio Connect is that it supports ActiveSync, and that is its most critical feature. The solution is also a nice, simple, robust, and stable mail server.""We have contacted technical support a handful of times and received some assistance.""It's relatively simple to use."

"Zimbra Collaboration has integrated a lot of their party tools and they have good documentation available.""Good email solution and it's open-source.""The logs, troubleshooting, and tracking we have found to be the most valuable features. We have any issues with lost messages the features are useful. It is very easy to track and log.""The backup and storage management features of Zimbra Collaboration are valuable.""The solution is easy to implement.""Network NG Modules are valuable to us.""The product is easy to set up.""The configuration is simple."

Cons
"The solution could improve the redundancy because we only have one copy of the Kerio Connect server on our hardware. The next step for us is to move to the cloud and if Kerio does not have a cloud version available they should release one""Having a native Outlook map integration would make Kerio Connect better.""I would like to see better support from their support team.""The search and archiving documentation capabilities need to be stronger.""You cannot integrate with other services like Google Docs, Google Assistant, Google Calendar, etc.""Most of our clients use Outlook and Kerio Connect. Occasionally, Kerio can be a bit slow. They could make it faster to get onto the web interface without so much load time. It's just slow with Outlook, however, for some reason.""It could be simpler to use and install, but I still wouldn't use it because there isn't a compelling use case."

"Zimbra must improve its solution to make it easy so that the users don't have to use webmail to connect to their accounts and log in to webmail every time. This is something that is lacking in Zimbra Collaboration. They should provide a better way to easily connect email applications on the desktop to the Zimbra server. They should also try to have more functionality for storage management, like Microsoft Exchange. Currently, the management of the email data must be done manually in Zimbra Collaboration, which we are finding very difficult. They should provide a way to save emails so that you can have more space on the server and storage. Because of the lack of this functionality, we are planning to migrate to Microsoft Exchange. Microsoft Exchange provides a better way to manage storage than Zimbra Collaboration. You cannot have a mail solution without storage management because emails will always increase. Zimbra Collaboration also needs tools for management. More back-office tools are required to manage the whole mailbox and space. You don't only manage emails but also the documents attached to the emails. Therefore, you require tools to select and decide what do you want to save or how do you want to free up space in your infrastructure.""Zimbra Collaboration's video conferencing could be improved.""The new patches are, at times, not so good, so we don't install them, causing the tool to be not so stable overall.""It is good and competent, but you have to pay for video and group chat features.""It would be great if a group chat feature were created to allow for a team environment.""The solution could improve by making it easier to use.""I can confidently say that Zimbra is good enough for 2,000 client users. But, at the same time, if my client needs more than that and we have two options—Zimbra or Microsoft—I'm going with Microsoft because many admins will speak to Microsoft's ability to handle that many.""Zimbra should provide a desktop client. Right now, we are using a web browser for accessing our emails. There should also be a desktop client."

When you purchase Microsoft Exchange, you will also have to purchase tools for security, which adds to the cost. The migration from Zimbra Collaboration to another email solution is very simple and easy. Migration from Microsoft Exchange to another email solution is very difficult.
