We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
I had the option to prepare data myself instead of always having to depend on the data team.Scripting as per a customer's need, which is a pretty cool feature and not available in other tools. On the positive side, QlikView's scripting is a great asset as it functions as an ETL.The in-memory feature gives us better insight. It's also easy to drill down into the information and select information.Associative model - no more cubes. Its ability to build, very quickly, very complicated models.A well designed app brings freedom of inquiry to meetings, allowing me to answer questions in real time and this has transformed progress and outputs of our monthly group meeting.E-T-L, The Extract, Transform, and Loading capabilities of QlikView make it a highly sophisticated self-service business intelligence tool for developers and analysts.

Cons
More/newer visualisation components need to be added.Installation and deployment could be made easier and quicker. If a user wanted to see something not included in the application the new object had to be created by a power user or developer because Qlik view's scripting has somewhat of a learning curve. For me, it is important to have a mix, what is the "view" and what is the "sense", Qlik Sense. They have two tools, but for me it is important to have only one tool, which combines the functions that we have from one side and the other side.Although Qliktech's road map clearly states that QlikView has a long way to go, most of the R&D effort seems to be benefiting Qlik Sense.Improvement in collaboration, between that and publishing of reports and publishing of models.Syntax editor needs some work, it's frustrating to have valid syntax being flagged as incorrect. The user interface and ease of use takes a bit of a learning curve to pick up.

I would like to see more development and growth for the support of Knowledge Base and Community forums.I would love to have more customization capabilities for building dashboards, especially in creating custom widget sizes.I would also like to be able to run a bursts of reports based on different field values with PDF output right in the tool, rather than filtering on each field value and generating each PDF manually. The initial version we purchased only ran on Windows servers, which was less than ideal for our DevOps team. I believe that has been remedied in the latest release. The administrative side of Sisense is a little cumbersome and confusing.Larger datasets will sometimes give a "Accumulated logs" error when trying to make minor changes. Pricing and Cost Advice
Qlik is fairly high in terms of pricing.QlikView pricing and licensing is on the high side for a small sized company, but it's competitive among its peers.Pricing is a bit too high and I think licenses should be unlimited.
