We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Among the most valuable features are the Company Portal that is built into Intune, and the update rings so that we can manage what types of future updates the devices get.""We can manage and standardize security across your environment, identify problems, receive alerts, and so on. That's its purpose, and that's also why it's so good.""Based on my experience, I find Intune very flexible for managing Windows devices. We can use scripting, and we can make use of the self-service portal or the company portal to publish some of the applications for Windows.""The ability to block and erase remote devices is valuable to us, especially when those devices are lost.""The solution is stable.""I like the fact that it's integrated with the rest of the Microsoft products, so customers can manage it from their Office 365 portal or Azure portal.""The one feature we find most useful is the Mobile Application Manager. There are two types, we have the complete MDM and the Mobile Application Manager(MAM). We don't give our users phones, it is their own personal phone, and we need to allow them to have access to the company detail on their phone. We need to create a balance between their own personal data and the company data. We deploy the Mobile Application Manager for them so that we won't be able to interfere with their own personal data.""It is very easy to use. It has a very easy interface."

"The remote management and cloud-based maintenance features of this solution are very useful for our organization.""Sophos can block the Wi-Fi connection on a mobile device. That's one feature we wanted, but the main thing is the ability to disable the device if it's lost or stolen. We need to shut down PayPal, so it can't be used to make unauthorized purchases.""The security features work well.""The solution is quite user-friendly.""They always add more features to this product.""One of the most valuable features of Sophos Mobile is the Wifi password.""The initial setup process is straightforward and fast.""The management and enrollment process is great, and with the asset management and instant action menu, we can easily maintain and support the users."

"Customer service has been excellent. Trend Micro has very good deals and support - also in the Middle East.""The Android protection, it’s faster.""This solution is able to protect the data, files, and folders that have been hijack or encrypted.""Setting up the product is not too difficult.""Parental control""Their ransomware protection is useful.""It will reduce the vulnerability level for safe browsing.""The solution offers a lot of custom features."

Cons
"I have a lot of Apple products in my environment. It would be nice to have an improved integration of Apple products with Microsoft Intune without Jam.""Onboarding of endpoint devices is not straightforward. The onboarding process was a little heavier than I thought it would be. That's the key improvement area. Obviously, the more control you have over the devices, the better it is.""They need to integrate more with security options.""There are a few security features that are not available in Microsoft Intune, when compared to other products.""Microsoft needs to enhance device-level security, as sometimes when using Microsoft Intune, the device's operating system becomes stuck and requires a full uninstall to remove the Intune bug.""Technical support is not that great.""The Mac integration has room for improvement.""In terms of what can be improved, I am looking for better enhancements regarding Apple management, not only on the mobile device, but also on the laptop."

More Microsoft Intune Cons →

"It could be more secure.""There may be necessary adjustments that need to be made because we are facing certain restrictions within the work profile.""We encounter issues while working with iOS.""The setup should be made easier.""In terms of what could be improved, the initial configuration and setup of the environment could probably be made a little bit easier. There are so many pieces that go into it. Intune is absolutely insane and Sophos is better, but it still is a bit complex to get it all set up correctly.""For Sophos Mobile, it is difficult to get good support.""Our support reps are based in the Philippines, and it's hard to connect with them sometimes. It took me about two months to resolve my issue, so it wasn't a good experience.""We have experienced issues in updating iOS devices when we set a minimum version requirement policy, and we do not have the option to force automatic installation. This means that the device must be supervised in order for updates to be applied, which we would like to see improved."

More Sophos Mobile Cons →

"This solution is weak and cannot detect the latest ransomware.""When the agent upgrades itself, it loses some settings and they need to be re-enabled manually.""Contact Backup.""Trend Micro tends to drain the battery running in the background, but apart from that, they need to improve their updates.""The iOS protection: This is because Apple will “close” your smartphone.""There is always room for improvement in security.""Sometimes, when generating random numbers to our mobile feed the random number doesn't work. We mainly deal with QR codes because of this. If they could fix the random number generator that would be helpful.""There have been some users who have been complaining about the interface being unfriendly and when the application software is installed on their phone making their mobile slow."

    Reviews from Real Users

Microsoft Intune stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its ability to secure all devices under its management and the flexibility that the solution offers its users.

A computing services manager notes, "Its security is most valuable. It gives us a way to secure devices, not only those that are steady. We do have a few tablets and other devices, and it is a way for us to secure these devices and manage them. We know they're out there and what's their status. We can manage their life cycle and verify that they're updated properly."

The head of IT engineering at a financial services company writes, "The one feature we find most useful is the Mobile Application Manager. There are two types: we have the complete MDM and the Mobile Application Manager (MAM). We don't give our users phones, it is their own personal phone, and we need to allow them to have access to the company details on their phone. We need to create a balance between their own personal data and the company data. We deploy the Mobile Application Manager for them so that we won't be able to interfere with their own personal data."
