We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"Stability-wise, it's good. I have never encountered any bugs.""Cisco Umbrella is such a solution and can be implemented very fast and easy. All that we must do is redirect the DNS registers in their routers, or the active directory service of the enterprise that are going to use in Umbrella services. If you buy the service now, in two hours you are protected by the service because it's very fast to put in service.""Cisco Umbrella is absolutely stable.""The implementation is pretty easy.""Provides dependable DNS monitoring of external devices.""The user interface is great. It's very easy to tailor to our client's environment and needs.""We've found it to be stable and good for our customers.""We like Cisco Umbrella because of DNS security. It's one step ahead of whatever we are using for regular web filtering. In that way, it's more secure than other web filtering products."

"Almost everyone who uses it is happy about the product. I don't get any types of complaints from my clients.""The dashboard of the solution is a valuable feature.""The installation is easy and doesn't take long. The program speedy and doesn't crash. It doesn't consume computer hardware or software.""When compared with other products, Webroot DNS Protection is the best to secure the end users."

"Zscaler Internet Access protects using data loss prevention. If you have a CASB exposing your cloud out into the network, then Zscaler Internet Access will go ahead and control that unknown cloud application in the CASB, protecting it. There is also data detection with exact data match. This improves the data coming into your cloud so you are protecting it.""The scanning feature is impressive, because they do not introduce a big latency to the traffic.""For our needs, the cloud-native proxy architecture is a very good solution. We are moving away from on-prem appliances and moving more toward cloud-based solutions. Zscaler is a good fit for our strategy. This architecture helps with cyber threats because we inspect most of the traffic and we can see that a lot of threats are stopped directly in the secure web gateway.""The VPN is valuable, as the whole technology is very different from a traditional VPN.""The security is excellent."

Cons
"Cisco Umbrella should introduce an on-premises device.""I would like them to make some videos, practical videos, the kind with steps that people can use to learn and deploy""In the future, they should combine some of the Cisco AMP features that they already have, for anti-malware purposes.""I think it's a very basic solution, and because of that, Cisco Umbrella would not be a suitable solution for large companies.""I would like to see integration with SecurNX in the future.""The product can be pretty expensive.""The pricing is a bit high. Being outside of the USA, we have issues with the exchange rate.""We would like to see the enhancements made to the EDR, as we see features that are running endpoint management."

"The reporting system needs improvement. They should make is that we can customize it so we can add, remove or change its interface but they use a template. The reports cannot be changed.""Reporting is not done in real-time. Rather, it is done in 15-minute intervales. This is something that should be configurable by the admin.""If the solution could integrate with FortiGate where there would only be a need of one dashboard instead of having to set policies on our firewall and our DNS, this would be helpful.""It needs to be more secure for production environments."

"I don't know whether it's Zscaler or not, however, sometimes I can't access my time management. I need to wait and try again a few hours later. Typically, if I let some time pass, I can access it again.""I would like to see the ability to choose a pool of IPs for my company, set up rules based on them, and know that those IPs are not used by other companies.""An improvement would be if they could provide an out-of-the-box experience, like 20 to 30 features all ready to go. In comparison, LogRhythm offers out-of-the-box features. With Zscaler Internet Access, there is firewall IPS, multiple security services, filtering, DLP, and CASB browser isolation. These are things that all users are going to be using. However, when an administrator or architect would start building this, I would definitely need to engage professional services to help clients do it.""The reporting functionality could be a bit easier to use. There is a reporting function, but it's quite hard to do any good reporting, from a user-management perspective. For example, if a department manager wants to know how his department is using the web, there is a way to get the data, but it's quite cumbersome to get it and show it well. And that's true for comparing between departments.""There are a few features that are not compatible with the Azure cloud."

Pricing and Cost Advice
"I think it's worth the money.""It has a reasonable price. It is certainly not as expensive as it used to be. It is in line with other offerings on the market. There are a number of different flavors of Umbrella. They could bring Umbrella SIG down a bit because its price is a little bit high for what it does, but I also understand why its price is high.""The licensing part for Umbrella is really flexible.""Cisco uses subscription models for the pricing and there are three subscription plans.""There are three models for licensing with different feature sets.""In the region I'm from, that of EMAR, Europe, the Middle East, Eastern Asia and Africa, our organizations do not have many liquid cash assets, so the price could be better.""I am not sure, I don't have the numbers in front of me, but I think it's $1.00 or so per device/month.""The price should be slightly lower than the current price because if you look at the whole solution, it is simply a threat intelligence solution to block blacklisted things. The price should be lower looking at the features provided by the solution. The price isn't too high either, but it could be lower."
