Cisco Duo Scalability
Scalability is excellent. Being cloud-driven, our customers are not concerned. They can simply purchase licenses as they need them, and scale up or down as required. Typically, scaling up and scaling out is the norm. The flexible licensing model and cloud-based delivery enable this process.

Its scalability is great. There are tons and tons of applications that you can integrate it with. It could become a key piece for the organization for authentication.
There are probably more than 20 customers who are using this solution.
View full review »We are a relatively small shop. It was well within our sizing. We never saw any issues with scaling. Obviously, the indications would be that it will scale very well, but nothing we had to experience with.
View full review »It is a scalable solution. From what we've seen, it's pretty scalable. It's really good. In terms of when you get an API response, I don't have to keep pulling that endpoint; I just get a response back, which is better than some of the other ones that exist.
View full review »The platform is highly scalable, and Duo Security is constantly improving its product; I receive weekly emails about new features and improvements they have made.

Scalability is definitely up there. It could easily handle many, many, many more authentications than we are currently or ever would use. It could definitely go far beyond what we are currently using.

Scalability is there. Our organization is somewhere around 5,000 employees, and that is not very many users for a platform like Duo, so I don't see any issues with scalability.

We have 1,500 users that use Duo Security. We're planning to use Duo Security for more applications, but the number of users won't increase anymore, so in terms of scalability, I don't think we'll have any issues.

When we speak of clients on which Duo Security is deployed, every user in my environment typically has a cell phone and a laptop and we use mobile push. I believe we do use PIN capabilities, as well, but primarily we use mobile push. I suspect that it's on a PC mobile platform.

The scalability has worked great for us. We've not had any issues with it.
My team gives demonstrations of Duo regularly. The number-one piece of feedback that we get from people is that they like the simplicity. They like the windows, that it's easy to set up, and the features. There are different features and you don't have to turn them all on right away. You can turn on the basic features and get the authentication piece. They like the ability to then drill down and turn on some of those extra features because they don't have to ramp up straight away. They can turn on the basics and be in good shape. Then, if they want to keep tweaking it and turn on all the other pieces, it scales really nicely that way.
End user-wise, we're probably up to about 600 to 700. Our central office is out of Harrisburg, PA and we have a couple of warehouses across the U.S. where I believe they use it too. It's a bit of a distributed model, but it's not a massive distributed model.

Duo Security's scalability is good. We are a fairly large organization but haven't had any scalability issues.
View full review »The scalability seems fine. As long as you get the licensing to support it, you can add as many users as you'd like.
We have five or six offices locally, and a few more in different states in the US. We also have one in Shanghai, but they're doing their own thing there. But everyone in our US offices uses it, they all get enrolled. Typically, people will install the app on their phones although they don't have to.
View full review »I don't know how Duo would scale. If I've got a hundred websites and I install it on several of them, scalability just means adding it to a new website. It would be as easy as adding it to the first.
That's not an issue, but I still haven't figured out how to add new users to a site that already has it installed. I checked their online documentation and haven't found an answer yet, so we temporarily took it off on that particular site.
View full review »After Cisco purchased Duo Security, I was uncertain about its scalability. However, it appears that Cisco has granted them the freedom to pursue their own initiatives and has provided the necessary resources for them to achieve their goals.

The solution is generally easy to scale. If you have the ability to deploy Duo Security yourself or can leverage third-party integrators, there should not be any issues with scalability.
I've never had anything outgrow it. That's for sure. You just add licenses.

Systems Engineer Virtualization at a engineering company with 501-1,000 employees
We started off with a small deployment and, in one or two steps, sent it out to everybody and it scaled fine. We didn't have to change anything in our setup.
We have about 1,200 users across 60 branches around the U.S. We occasionally have people using it internationally and we're able to handle that fine with our geographic location blocking or allowing, as the case may be. It's a fully virtualized environment. We have a lot of remote users, people who work in remote fields. As long as they have a cell signal, it works.
