Licensing costs are expensive. 

I think that the price for one CPU with a computer is about $17,000. A small solution probably needs at least four CPUs and up to eight. That will add up to $68,000 to $132,000. You can't go that much lower than that.

If you are not using our product, you have to use Oracle Enterprise Manager and I think that's about $3,000 per CPU as well. Overall, you could be looking at up to $24,000 on top of the GoldenGate license. 

It's quite on the expensive side, but if you want that kind of monitoring, that's what you have to use. 

GoldenGate is an expensive solution but all the solutions in this area are expensive. 

The price is high. Consequently, when clients or customers acquire the solution, they tend to utilize it to its maximum extent due to this factor.

Oracle GoldenGate is a high-priced solution because it follows the core-based pricing model versus the software-based pricing model of other solutions.

Currently, Oracle only offers licenses on an annual basis. However, it would be beneficial if they started to offer a time-based licensing format, allowing us to purchase a license specifically for a small project related to data migration, instead of having to commit to a full year.

The one feature that I think Oracle could perhaps consider is, at the moment, the Veridata option is an extra cost. Golden Gate is an expensive product. You pay a lot for the best. But not including the Veridata license to prove that everything is working correctly... The big improvement for me would be to have that license built in. That would take it to the next level. That would make it a much better product.

You may want to look at buying term licenses if you've just got a single migration to do. In that situation, you might want a term license for perhaps a year to save a lot of money, rather than buying a perpetual license.

Oracle GoldenGate's license can be expensive compared to other solutions like Qlik Replicate or SAP Replicate.

In terms of price, as a client, I want always the cheaper price. But, in this case, we have a good deal with Oracle in terms of GoldenGate licenses. It's a lot of money but the business case is working for us. We need the information, and fast access to it, so we require an effective system. We already have one solution in place working, but it's a legacy system bases on web services and the operations costs are very expensice. We need to migrate asap to this new solution.

The price of this solution is good.

GoldenGate is expensive. It's costly because this solution is unique in our market. The GoldenGate Cloud Service is cheaper than the on-premise solution.
