Around 100 to 150 users use VMware Workstation in our organization. We have created more than 400 to 500 VMware Workstation machines.

My customers believe VMware is extremely scalable with 100s nodes and hosts.

The product is very scalable. You can extend to operating systems that are of different specifications. My company has 30-35 employees. 

I have not noted any scalability at all with this product.

We have a few customers. We need only one administrator to deploy and maintain the tool.

The scalability of the solution is excellent. Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

VMware Workstation can be rolled out in any workstation. However, you don't scale it, you only install it on the workstations where you need it.

VMware Workstation cannot scale. It's one installation on one system, you can't scale it. It uses the resources of my computer only.

There are no issues with scalability. When we need to make any tweaks by adding more resources, it's pretty straightforward. I'm the only user. In terms of the back end, Microsoft patching needs to be done on a monthly basis based on our processes. The software itself will look to see how often it needs updates. It's pretty straightforward.

Based on what I have seen, I rate the solution's scalability a seven out of ten.

I didn't use the licensed software version of VMware Workstation, because of which I can't comment on its efficiency.

Though I am unsure, I feel that six to seven users use the solution for their personal use in my company.

Currently, I don't plan to use the version offered by VMware Workstation.

I would rate the scalability a ten out of ten. There are around 350 end users using this in our organization.

The solution is not scalable. The solution is not in production. We are not trying to scale it. Not more than 50 people are using the product.

I rate VMware Workstation a five out of ten for scalability.

It is a scalable solution. I rate the scalability a seven out of ten. 

The scalability of the VMware Workstation is good. We are able to add multiple ESXi servers into the vCenter and scale the requirements according to the client's needs. It can scale very well.

Around 30 to 40 engineers use VMware Workstation in our organization.

It is a scalable solution.

On Windows 7 - I can run 2 VMs (I have a beefy Workstation with 2 quad core Xeon procs and two NVIDIA Quadro Cards as well as 16 GB RAM) It does not play well when there are more than 2 windows VMs running on top of a Windows host environment. Update - I have a new machine with an i7 6700 processor - it is more than adequate to run the base Windows 8.1 OS, another Windows 8.1 OS a Windows 7 OS, and an Ubuntu 16.04 OS simultaneously. I do this on a daily basis at work and the performance is great. I use a SSD for the base Windows OS and the other OS's live on a larger 3 TB drive that I use for virtual machine/server work.

This solution is scalable - you can install it on your system and run a number of VMs which connect back to the central data, so it's inter-connectable, connecting access to VPNs.

I haven't faced any inconveniences working with this solution. It is very easy to use.
