Currently responsible for end to end business intelligence and data solutions at the Bank of New Zealand in Auckland, Govind is a seasoned data architect with 10+ years of consulting, solution architecture and development experience in multiple ETL, database & reporting technologies and dimensional data modeling.
Have worked in customer facing roles in multiple geographies - Western Europe and Asia Pacific.
Progressed from an ETL developer to a DWH Project Technical Team Lead managing & mentoring up to 10 team members at a time in 3 years, and scaled up to become a DW-BI/ETL solution architect, in 5 years. Have worked with multiple third parties (Royal Bank of Scotland, Kronos, IVIS Group, TXT Solutions, etc) in data integration projects.
Have strong dimensional data modeling & data analysis skills using SQL and hands on expertise in designing, writing, re-engineering, tuning ETL code in a system which processes over a billion rows of data each day, on top of working in an architecture role and defining ETL & BI designs and design patterns – ability to be detail oriented while still retaining visibility of the ‘big picture’.
Currently ramping up skills in Hadoop and other Big Data technologies to enable the Bank to achieve insights from advanced anaytics on vast data sets.
