Flexera Software is an American computer software company based in Itasca, Illinois. The company used to be the Rovi Corporation's software division. On 1 April 2008, Macrovision sold its software division to the Thoma Cressey Bravo investment fund. In October 2009, Acresso Software, Inc. became Flexera Software. On July 19, 2011 Thoma Cressey Bravo sold a majority stake in Flexera Software LLC to Teachers' Private Capital, the private investment department of the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan. The transaction was finalized on October 3, 2011.Tripwire, Inc. is a software company based in Portland, Oregon that develops, markets and sells information technology solutions that provide security and compliance automation. The company's software and hardware products provide organizations control over physical and virtual IT infrastructure. In 1997, Gene Kim co-founded Tripwire, Inc. The rights to the Tripwire name and technology were attained, and a commercial version of the product, Tripwire for Servers was released soon thereafter. In 2000, Tripwire contributed source code functionally equivalent to the academic source release to the open source community to enable Open Source Tripwire.
