In difficult situations, where something was accidentally erased or there was another kind of error, I can return to the latest backup and recover. For me, it's been very successful and very effective.

The solution has helped us because it supports a lot of platforms and we don't have to install anything at our end in terms of a server and the like. Everything is on the cloud and that's a good start for us.

Before I had this product, I was doing backups one disk at a time using the tool that comes with Microsoft. I do database work and my projects are large enough that I need multiple disk drives and it was just getting to be too much record-keeping. In some cases, I didn't do my backups manually when I should've, and I lost things because of it. Acronis allowed me to organize all that and automate it and so now, my backups happen automatically; I don't even have to think about them.

We are able to remotely backup machines from locations across the United States from one centralized point. We are also able to restore/reimage machines the same way. This saves us the ability of shipping and configuring, which kills a lot of time and puts the machine back in service.

When we first started, we didn’t have the ability to back up servers, per se, that had RAID drives on them. Years ago we were trying Ghost backup or some other more consumer-based products. Then when we found Acronis, we were actually able to back up the server OS on a RAID drive Blu-ray.

Acronis Backup has been beneficial for our organization because it allows our mobile employees to create backups while they are in the field, rather than having to come back to the office to do so. This is particularly useful because, in the past, we had to rely on our office network to perform backups using Azure and Veeam. With Acronis, as long as our mobile employees have ethernet connectivity, they can create backups remotely, which has been convenient and efficient.

Using Acronis Backup has helped our organization by allowing us to create backups of data accessed by mobile employees in the field, which has reduced the risk of data loss due to theft, loss of laptops, or other incidents. This has improved our operations by helping us to protect our data and prevent losses that could impact our business.

The key for me at the time was allowing my Engineers to have their weekends free vs rotating them through a schedule so that servers were taken offline and imaged during the change window. Post-implementation, this fell to zero and boosted morale by allowing the engineers to enjoy their weekends with their families. In this instance, showing the team that I valued their personal lives and was willing to pay to insure their quality of life resulted in a dedicated team that was thankful and produced more.

This organization also highly mission critical server applications where RTO was very low. We did use Load Balancers and other technologies, but for a catastrophic failure this solution presented an RTO of roughly 1 Hour (depending on the size of the server) although often less. It became routine to run an off cycle image before any major physical server upgrade, thus improving the speed from development to QA to production. Developers could be less leery of major changes knowing that the back-out was quick and reliable.

Up to now, it was fantastic. Whenever we had a problem, we just restored the image. Every first of the month I'm doing a full image backup, and every day of the month a differential backup.

The improvement is that if something happens, I can go back very quickly. I keep all my data in different locations. The partition where I'm using the image, it's actually like an engine. So, if something happens, I just put the engine back and get back to work very, very quickly.

It is fast and everything is consolidated in one place. It's easier to use than Symantec, our previous solution. It's just easier and everything is all in one place.

If we get more servers, there are options, moving forward, to upgrade to "Advanced" where everything is on one dashboard. This is something we have been looking at as we grow.

I don't worry that the backups aren't running or panic when a storm is coming through; it just reassures us because we've  seen what it's doing, what it can do, and that it's doing what we're asking it to do. For example, if somebody deletes a file out of their Home folder or a shared folder, then knowing that I've got it and that I can get it back fairly quickly is important. Also, if a VM server were to go down we would be able to recover.  It's just that sense of security and peace of mind.

We can backup all hosts and clusters. We have saved massive drive space and shortened data transfer time to offsite due to the 8:1 ratio of the de-duplication and changed block tracking. Recovery is easy and can be done by any of the help desk techs with very little training.

It just got me out of a jam. Now, with these ransomware attacks that have been steadily coming across the internet, all my backups are inside of a local backup network attached storage device that requires credentials to gain access to it. They're not encrypted and I'm able to restore my customers back to the next day of production so they can continue moving on.

We update our Vaccination Tracking System (VTS) software on a monthly basis with software patches and added features, with Acronis Backup & Recovery, it enables us to always revert to the initial state when we experience challenges with the test environment. Because of the numerous reports we get from our staff in the filed while using the VTS, ABR allows us to incrementally backup important changes as we continually try to fix compatibility issues with different scenarios. Works very well with real-time backup of our database files server when staff upload information captured from polio vaccination tracking.

The advantages to me are I make two backups. I make a backup of the entire server that goes offsite. That's for disaster recovery. And then I make another copy of just two virtual servers that write on the physical server to a local NAS device. That way, I can do file-level restores.

I have major clients who use this solution: A university, a bank, and one mid-size client. Recently, I needed to recover all of the accounting data on the database. All of their networks were infected with Ransomware. Fortunately, all of their backups were up to date and the recovery went OK. Part of what helped me optimize the storage space was deduplication, encryption, and compression.
