We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros | |
The endpoint protection is the solution's most valuable feature. The solution has exchange protection. It has a content control, device control, a firewall, and anti-malware as well. They are all quite valuable features for us. I like the simplicity of this solution and the fact that it saves us time. The deployment was really straightforward and useful and I am impressed by the anti-virus endpoint detection and response offered by this solution. | It's a good solution, and they have something called Suite incorporating many, many engines like encryption, GLB, anti-virus. This solution protects us from virus attacks before they affect the organization. The product offers almost all of the features the client expects from such a solution. I would emphasize the ease of use and the quality of operations. Trend Micro is quite stable. The ease of deployment is one of its most valuable features. The scalability is perfect. The DDAN and the sand boxing features are very good and accurate. Stability is okay. |
Cons | |
The database needs improvement. It needs to be updated quite a bit. There needs to be better integration with the environment. Especially, for the active directory and also for keeping up with the changes from Microsoft. We use a lot of Microsoft OS. I have noted that sometimes they lag behind Microsoft updates. For example, when with Windows 10. I had some issues with deploying to Windows 10 because the solution was behind in updating their own services to match the Microsoft release. There are blurred lines between anti-virus and endpoint detection so I would say it can be confusing when you are considering buying this program. I would like to see that being explained better to the customer. | We cover many things, but there is something called ATP, advanced threat prevention. I think they need to invest in this technology. The alert, or warning function, needs to be improved. Product performance needs improvement. Customers face the same performance issues on the endpoint of the product. We need improvement on that side. Technical support is very very slow. There is no French support. Only English. The experts are in England, the United States, or Japan, I don't know where. So the support is really lacking. We had a few occasions where we had to turn off our clients' computers to upgrade the drivers. There is room for improvement in next-gen attacks protection. Recently, we had a malware attack and considered looking at other cloud solutions because of this breach. I am expecting an Apple featured IDLP solution with OfficeScan, where we have only IDLP. Also, the ADR functionality in our Office Scan solution would be a nice addition. Genrally, the ADR solutions are the only failed ends of the solutions we have found with Trend Micro. |
Pricing and Cost Advice | |
There's a yearly cost for licensing. For us, that comes to $1,400. There are no additional costs beyond the license itself. | It's well priced at a yearly rate. The price itself depends on whether the solution is full suite, half suite, or some other engine. It's different according to the consumer's requests. I think that this product is expensive. On a yearly basis, it's about $50,000. There are no costs in addition to the standard licensing fees. Pricing and licensing are competitive with other solutions on the market. |
