We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

With the Agentless monitoring and ability to create custom plugins, we've been able to transform the tool not just into a great APM solution but a really good enterprise monitoring solution too.Dynatrace helped us with root cause analysis of poor performing components of our applications. The product allows us to build preferred/customized business transactions to track complex transactions. UEM (User Experience Monitoring) agents track user experience on webRequests. The advantage is that Dynatrace correlates the measures on the devices with those on the backend servers, giving us an end-to-end view of the transaction, from the user's phone deep into the backend servers.Dynatrace is an extremely helpful APM solution in large, complex environments, whenever we need to have an integrated vision of our users, infrastructure, and applications.Given the full-stack approach, you are able to view from the end user perspective, almost down to the bare metal.Dynatrace is capable of following all user actions across all monitored infrastructure, even to systems not monitored, but interconnected. The solution is multi-tenant and based in Big data technology.Never seen anything so complex be so simple to install.

As soon as it monitors all our systems and is integrated with PagerDuty, the operations team just needs to wait for alerts on their cellphones to fix things. They have baseline level alerting. We detect issues using dashboards that we built on New Relic.Every time there is a crisis, high traffic, or if we see a problem with a server, we go to New Relic and monitor it to determine the cause. The deep insights, which will give you the metrics (not a high level), so we can build out at the database level where the bottleneck is. This has been pretty helpful.New Relic has helped us in terms of the optimizing our print and loading times. It is a software solution as a service, so I don't have to manage it on-premise.Their technical support is pretty good and responsive. We have a real good relationship with them.

In the new Dynatrace solution, support for legacy applications is still not there. The functionality needs improvement.Because we are financial, there are certain things that we cannot put on the cloud. However, that is a given fact, not only for us. It is a given fact for any financial company because of PCI compliance. Because of PCI compliance, companies don't take the risk of putting data in the cloud. The GUI has the most room for improvement. Sometimes, it can be a little cumbersome to find things and be able to create your own views, or be able to dig in and understand where things are.It needs a better way to figure out how to dig deeper into the details, e.g., sometimes we have to wade through multiple logs, etc.I would like Dynatrace to be more flexible and user-friendly.Every time we spin up an EC2 instance, we have to slap an agent on it and that is more work. So, if it could go agentless, that would be great. The new Managed Edition is too complex. I feel like a fish out of water.

I would like if it could have predictive analysis. Today, we only have the option to configure thresholds.I would like an infrastructure network that provides real-time views, showing the issues.Compared to their competitors, they are missing some features at the moment. The APIs could be better. I would also like more APIs and features to integrate with streaming solutions, like Kinesis or Kafka.I would like to be able to invest less time in IT and ad hocs. We should be concentrating on other issues.I would like to have storage monitoring. E.g., being able to monitor SANS, specifically protocols, like NFS and CIFS metrics. The integration and configuration of this product in our AWS environment needs improvement on the filtering part. I would like it to go more granular on accounts.I would like a feature where I can turn off alerting at a policy level. Thus, when a policy is inactive, I can shut down all of my alerts within the policy.

Pricing and Cost Advice
Pricing can be high, especially for Portuguese standards. But as one says, you get what you pay for.Setup cost is very low considering that it is an almost totally, automatic process.Licensing is very interesting, as you pay only for what is being monitored. A lot of things are given away for no additional cost. If you have a great IT consolidation, it will be pretty cheap. If you have a lot of servers, it will be heavier.I have not been able to observe more than 1% overhead, despite Dynatrace saying that it can be slightly higher in some situations.Purchasing through the AWS Marketplace is excellent. The pricing and licensing are very expensive.Purchasing through the AWS Marketplace was a pretty straightforward process. We had no hiccups.I think the pricing is at a fair value for what it is.

The new licensing model is great, as we pay for what we use (in computational units). However, the pricing is expensive compared to other tools. The detection piece of it brings us a big return on investment. The pricing could be better. We did not purchase the full version. Maybe if we applied all the other features of the full version of New Relic, we could get all the features that we feel are missing.Purchasing through the AWS Marketplace was easy. The product is easy to deploy and manage, which is why our company purchased through the AWS Marketplace. The pricing model is a little confusing for beginners. They find it a little expensive, and if you are using it already, then that is not good. The pricing is okay comparatively their competitors. The only concern was whether it should be purchased on demand or bring your own license, and which way passes some savings onto the end customers. We deploy everything on AWS. Purchasing the product on AWS Marketplace made it easier for us.Comparatively, the pricing is expensive.

Dynatrace is the best of the best when it comes to APM solutions. Here’s why:

Dynatrace uses a single agent for everything which results in fast deployment.
Dynatrace offers a fully on prem solution for organizations needing tight security.
Dynatrace does a deep dive into the code running an application, and can isolate an application issue to the line of code causing it.
Dynatrace has AI built in and learns what is or is not normal behavior so you only get alerts that are meaningful.
The Dynatrace dashboards are awesome out of the box, and they can be customized to provide specific views for the same information. This is useful for an executive looking at the data one way and the programmer looking at the same data from a different view.
Dynatrace can also look at the network traffic flowing between servers to provide a true end-to-end solution.
This is just six of the areas where Dynatrace outshines the rest.
My opinions come from having worked with New Relic, AppDynamics, CA’s APM and Dynatrace. I have been using Dynatrace for four years.

Actually APM market in Korea, there is very few reference sites of New Relic in Korea.
I don't know Dynatrace/Ruxit client in Korea.
Only I know Dynatrace AppMon has a reasonable number of customer in Korea.
I'm working business for APPDYNAMICS, but the current market still require core
APM itself instead of Cloud, Hybrid, multi Servers and Business Analytic, etc.

Both solutions from the same weight category. You should clarify details about your application (language, async call ()yes/now), microservices (yes/no) and etc) and which problems do you want to solve.
You should know one important constraint - NewRelic provide only SaaS service. As of other differencies it's about the same.
