We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
It gives complete stats of the user and what they are doing. It is very stable and reliable. It alerts us, or can detect, potential problems which are building up.It has more functionality, better additional components, and better management of problems. It also has a good AI.It has been doing a good job of alerting us to issues. It has been very helpful and effective at identifying how we can do things to make our infrastructure and application a little better. In general, it has helped me go through different logs more easily when something breaks. The most valuable feature is the monitoring of application performance. The graphical interface is helpful, as it illustrates things well for anyone who wants to know about the information it provides.

As soon as it monitors all our systems and is integrated with PagerDuty, the operations team just needs to wait for alerts on their cellphones to fix things. They have baseline level alerting. We detect issues using dashboards that we built on New Relic.Every time there is a crisis, high traffic, or if we see a problem with a server, we go to New Relic and monitor it to determine the cause. The deep insights, which will give you the metrics (not a high level), so we can build out at the database level where the bottleneck is. This has been pretty helpful.New Relic has helped us in terms of the optimizing our print and loading times. It is a software solution as a service, so I don't have to manage it on-premise.Their technical support is pretty good and responsive. We have a real good relationship with them.

Cons
The functionality needs improvement.Because we are financial, there are certain things that we cannot put on the cloud. However, that is a given fact, not only for us. It is a given fact for any financial company because of PCI compliance. Because of PCI compliance, companies don't take the risk of putting data in the cloud. The GUI has the most room for improvement. Sometimes, it can be a little cumbersome to find things and be able to create your own views, or be able to dig in and understand where things are.It needs a better way to figure out how to dig deeper into the details, e.g., sometimes we have to wade through multiple logs, etc.I would like Dynatrace to be more flexible and user-friendly.Every time we spin up an EC2 instance, we have to slap an agent on it and that is more work. So, if it could go agentless, that would be great. The new Managed Edition is too complex. I feel like a fish out of water. As we move into using more AWS native architectures, it should support everything that we want to do. We don't want to adopt another tool.

I would like if it could have predictive analysis. Today, we only have the option to configure thresholds.I would like an infrastructure network that provides real-time views, showing the issues.Compared to their competitors, they are missing some features at the moment. The APIs could be better. I would also like more APIs and features to integrate with streaming solutions, like Kinesis or Kafka.I would like to be able to invest less time in IT and ad hocs. We should be concentrating on other issues.I would like to have storage monitoring. E.g., being able to monitor SANS, specifically protocols, like NFS and CIFS metrics. The integration and configuration of this product in our AWS environment needs improvement on the filtering part. I would like it to go more granular on accounts.I would like a feature where I can turn off alerting at a policy level. Thus, when a policy is inactive, I can shut down all of my alerts within the policy.

Pricing and Cost Advice
Purchasing through the AWS Marketplace is excellent. The pricing and licensing are very expensive.Purchasing through the AWS Marketplace was a pretty straightforward process. We had no hiccups.I think the pricing is at a fair value for what it is.The product is pricey, but it is feature-rich, which is why we probably haven't looked away from it.The price could be improved. There is time savings. People's times have been cut in half using this solution because we were previously doing a lot of that manual work. Now, it's a lot more automated, and the data is just there. While it is quite good in respect to its functionality, there are few area in regards to pricing that they can look at how to possibly change. I have heard it's costly.

The new licensing model is great, as we pay for what we use (in computational units). However, the pricing is expensive compared to other tools. The detection piece of it brings us a big return on investment. The pricing could be better. We did not purchase the full version. Maybe if we applied all the other features of the full version of New Relic, we could get all the features that we feel are missing.Purchasing through the AWS Marketplace was easy. The product is easy to deploy and manage, which is why our company purchased through the AWS Marketplace. The pricing model is a little confusing for beginners. They find it a little expensive, and if you are using it already, then that is not good. The pricing is okay comparatively their competitors. The only concern was whether it should be purchased on demand or bring your own license, and which way passes some savings onto the end customers. We deploy everything on AWS. Purchasing the product on AWS Marketplace made it easier for us.Comparatively, the pricing is expensive.

New Relic was very easy to both deploy and configure.

Dynatrace is the best of the best when it comes to APM solutions. Here’s why:

Dynatrace uses a single agent for everything which results in fast deployment.
Dynatrace offers a fully on prem solution for organizations needing tight security.
Dynatrace does a deep dive into the code running an application, and can isolate an application issue to the line of code causing it.
Dynatrace has AI built in and learns what is or is not normal behavior so you only get alerts that are meaningful.
The Dynatrace dashboards are awesome out of the box, and they can be customized to provide specific views for the same information. This is useful for an executive looking at the data one way and the programmer looking at the same data from a different view.
Dynatrace can also look at the network traffic flowing between servers to provide a true end-to-end solution.
This is just six of the areas where Dynatrace outshines the rest.
My opinions come from having worked with New Relic, AppDynamics, CA’s APM and Dynatrace. I have been using Dynatrace for four years.

Actually APM market in Korea, there is very few reference sites of New Relic in Korea.
I don't know Dynatrace/Ruxit client in Korea.
Only I know Dynatrace AppMon has a reasonable number of customer in Korea.
I'm working business for APPDYNAMICS, but the current market still require core
APM itself instead of Cloud, Hybrid, multi Servers and Business Analytic, etc.

Both solutions from the same weight category. You should clarify details about your application (language, async call ()yes/now), microservices (yes/no) and etc) and which problems do you want to solve.
You should know one important constraint - NewRelic provide only SaaS service. As of other differencies it's about the same.
