We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The availability and ease of use are the big features.""They have really good baked in analytics to show you trends for growth history, so it does help with future planning for data growth.""It is fast and reliable. It works.""The simplicity of it. The performance is good, but the simplicity is the best thing. Storage management is quite complex, but Pure Storage is easy to manage.""It simplifies storage.""It is all-flash. This makes it a lot faster than the rest of what we have, as it is able to drive high I/O loads, which is big for us.""The most valuable feature is replication.""Data deduplication is one feature I found to be the most valuable in the tool...Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten."

More Pure Storage FlashArray Pros →

"The solution allows us to segregate one storage unit from another.""The management software is very good.""The benefits are better up-time, better response time.""The most valuable feature of this solution is its speed.""The hardware and software of NetApp EF-Series All Flash Arrays are easy for us to use.""We use it for our VDI environment, and have not had any complaints with it.""It is a very stable solution. Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.""The replication and mirroring features are very good."

"The ability to target existing remote storage with NoRestore is going to allow us to leverage existing storage without an increased financial investment.""In the event of a deletion, corruption, or ransomware, I am never going to lose more than one second of changes.""It has a very intuitive interface, it integrates more smoothly with our steps. With a different product from a different manufacturer, there are a lot more steps required to set up a volume, to make it available in VMware and to utilize it there.""The unit has been running at 100% without an issue.""Write latency is averaging way under a millisecond.""The HTML5 UI is clean, easy to navigate, and very intuitive.""Ease of use, time to market and scalability are all advantages. We can install new software and new applications in no time. That means we don't need buy a new shelf or new disks, just create a virtual machine and the system does everything behind the scenes.""I like the Reduxio TimeOS, specifically. That feature's pretty good. I haven't seen it in any other product. They're the only ones who have it."

Cons
"We would like to integrate it more with our backup solutions.""We do have an issue with the vCenter integration. Pure Storage says it has a lot of free space, but vCenter says its completely full. This is because their dedupes are saved as space, but Vcenter still detects the disk as completely full. So, we do have an issue with that.""I can't see where they can make anything better, unless, of course, they lower their prices even more.""Some services could be inserted directly into the SAN, so Pure Storage could complete with the HyperFlex.""A minor issue that comes to mind is that, every once in a while, a hard drive will go bad.""We would like to be able to connect to data tape for backup, specifically to the LTO backups.""It is way in excess of what we need. If anything, we could see a bit more speed. I'm just comparing it with what some of my colleagues who are implementing their own systems do.""We've had it in place for about a year and a half and have had zero complaints, other than that box-to-box replication is not encrypted."

More Pure Storage FlashArray Cons →

"It needs a better management tool.""Better integration with other brands is important so we would like to see it easier to integrate.""Their problems are on the software and the controlling of the storage where they lack segmentation and federation.""A little more manageability, a simpler management interface. It's not necessarily that it's way overly complex. It's just that it's not as easy as the FAS series.""Better support technicians for CAPP.""The only major drawback is the replication between EF-Series units.""This solution has limited storage.""There could be better integration with some of our Cisco products."

More NetApp EF-Series All Flash Arrays Cons →

"the only thing I would say negative about Reduxio is the cabling was a little bit confusing at first, but now that we understand it, it's easy. It was just so different from what we've seen before. That was the only hard part to get used to. The storage array is fully redundant, so there are some cross-connect cables that you have to run, from the A side to the B side, and the B side back to the A side, and we've just never seen anything like that before. But now that I understand the design, it makes complete sense. But initially it was confusing.""Would love to have role-based access and an active directory integration.""I am waiting for the vSphere Plug-In with individual VM level control.""The ability to look at data at a file level would be useful, as well as the ability recover at that level. Right now, you can only recover whole volumes.""It would be helpful to have the ability to recover virtual machines individually without having to restore the full LUN.""There is only thing I can think of at the moment, that would be detailed printable reports.""The only critique that we have is it needs the ability to have local users added. You have to log in as one built-in admin account. You can't create your own.""Integration is needed with other virtual vendors like VMware, Veeam, Hyper-V; that integration needs to be deeper, not just the way that they're using it now. I know that it's under development, but I think this is one of the disadvantages, for now, as a young company. They have to work with the other players on the market."

    Overview

Pure Storage FlashArray is the world’s first enterprise-class storage array that runs exclusively on the nonvolatile memory express (NVMe) protocol for memory access and storage. It represents a totally state-of-the-art type of storage technology. It offers users shared accelerated storage that delivers cutting-edge features in the realms of performance, simplicity, and consolidation. Pure Storage is fresh and modern today and will be for the next decade. Without forklift upgrades or planned downtime, Pure Storage takes the work out of storage ownership and delivers unprecedented customer satisfaction.

Pure Storage FlashArray is built with simplicity and reliability in mind. The solution can be implemented and optimized in hours, as opposed to other similar solutions that can take days. It has no moving parts, which removes areas where it could potentially be vulnerable to suffering errors. It is highly stable and gives users the ability to manage system shutdowns in a way that  prevents data loss.

    Benefits of Pure Storage FlashArray

Some of the benefits of using Pure Storage FlashArray include:

    • A much higher level of speed than similar pieces of technology. Pure Storage FlashArray maximizes the speed at which data can be transferred while at the same time minimizing system latencies that might slow the transfer down. Additionally, it offers users quick memory read and data access speeds.

    • A higher bang for your buck in terms of the storage capabilities you get for the money you pay. They are smaller in size than more standard storage technologies, but they offer flash memory, which enables users to store larger amounts of data than the current standard.

    Reviews from Real Users

Pure Storage FlashArray is a highly effective piece of storage technology which stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its overall robustness and the value that it offers by way of its reliability and ease of use. It provides users with many valuable features that allow them to maximize what they can do with this solution. Pure Storage FlashArray’s reliability and ease of use make it a highly valuable solution.

PeerSpot user Prabakaran K., a technical consultant at Injazat Data Systems, notes the robustness of this solution when he writes, "FlashArray has many valuable features. It's very user-friendly and it has high availability, so there is comparatively less downtime. During maintenance, there is no shutdown procedure, so you can directly power off the Array and manage the shutdown process without any data loss, which is a unique feature. Managing replication and data migration is also very easy."

PeerSpot user Jason D., a cloud solutions architect at a tech services company, notes three features that make this solution valuable when he writes, "We've had different types of storage, and three things of this solution are valuable. The first one is its outstanding performance. The second one is its stability. In the about three years that we've had it, we've had component failures, but we never had a service interruption or any data loss. The third one, which is really critical, is that it is super easy to use in terms of provisioning, storage, and managing the arrays. I'm able to maintain a multi-site environment with a couple of dozen arrays with a single mid-level storage admin."

The NetApp EF560 all-flash array is an all-SSD storage system for applications that demand extremely high levels of performance and reliability. Requiring just 2U of rack space, the EF560 all-flash array combines extreme IOPS, microsecond response times, and up to 12GBps of bandwidth with leading, enterprise-proven availability features.

Reduxio's HX550 flash hybrid storage arrays, based on Reduxio's TimeOS storage operating system allow you to recover application data to any second in the past, eliminates most of the complexity associated with managing storage, and provides exceptional performance and efficiency, far exceeding anything available today.
