We used Helix QAC and LDRA. We decided to use Klocwork because we had a good relationship with the vendor. We were already using it in our normal development environment, and we wanted to take up the preferred activity. The idea was to do both with the same tool. The sub-team was already learning Klocwork, so it made sense for the entire organization to have one product instead of using multiple solutions.

I've also used Polyspace. Klocwork is cheaper. However, we do use the Code Prover feature from Polyspace. Klocwork only works statically. Polyspace's Code Prover actually runs the code so when it finds a problem, it's actually a problem. The issue is that it takes a lot of time to set up and is much harder. Therefore, we use a combination of both solutions. We use Klocwork for all our code and Polyspace for areas that require more quality standards. 

I previously used David Wheeler's Flawfinder. I still use it for sanity checks, but it has a 70% to 80% false positive rate.

Where I worked previously we used SonarQube. I have also used the Microsoft standard rule set by Visual Studio. 

I have previously used Apple Xcode and Microsoft Visual Studio static code analysis and then JetBrains ReSharper type of the code analysis from the third-party tool, which is much cheaper than the Klocwork. Additionally, they are faster. I do not think we will be using Klocwork for much longer.

We used Coverity in the past, but they shifted their focus, and we switched to Klocwork.

I previously used PC-lint. I switched because KW is more mature.

We were using QAC and Klocwork at my previous company. At my current organization, we use Polyspace.

I used Kiuwan earlier, but I used it for open source. It was primarily to find open sources in our entire source code. It supports modern languages. It has more languages than Klocwork.

We were using three Open Source static analyzers and faced lots of false-positives and false-negatives. Klocwork has given us better results with real issues.

I evaluated some other tools, but I don't want to reveal the names of these tools. I didn't find them as good tools when compared with Klocwork. 

I didn't use any tools other than Klocwork.
