With Alteon, the load-balancing options are practically unlimited. We haven't had any issues with offloading, decryption, putting in cookies, or any other load-balancing features. We can check URLs, etc., on the backend for load balancing instead of running a TCP check. We're also doing some certificate stuff on there. Alteon covers all of the standard load-balancing techniques, and we employ most of them daily.

I've used the application performance monitoring features 100,000 times to get backup captures out of it because it's offloading some traffic. It helped several times because I can take a packet capture out of it and analyze it myself. I don't know if the load balancer did anything for me besides allowing me to take those static captures, but it helped in those aspects.

The most valuable aspect of Alteon is the availability it provides for our services. The availability of services is very important for any company, and especially for us since we are a port with many internet-facing services.

In addition, the solution is very dynamic and easy to manage.

Another excellent feature is the integrated application protection. It is an excellent product with many features that serve to protect our company. The services we provide are of vital importance, so their availability and protection with Alteon are truly important.

The best part is that we are able to manage it easily. It is easy to manage and easy to integrate with third-party applications. It is also easy in terms of overall support. The installation itself was very easy. These are the most likable features about Radware load balancers.

The integrated application protection provided by Alteon is very good. It really helps to avoid false positives in some cases. It provides important granularity to avoid a situation in which security or cybersecurity scenarios escape us. We are able to define policies and use techniques to contain these types of situations when they arise. As a security tool, it is very important.

Radware's solutions are very complete, and the integration among some of them—which, in some cases, we have not yet implemented but plan to—has given me peace of mind, knowing we have a robust tool with suitable solutions for all company cybersecurity issues.

At the corporate level, it is a very effective tool and it’s very simple. It shows us reports on the state of health of the services that we have configured, in terms of load balancing.

The most valuable feature of the solution is its stability. During the time that I have been using it, it has not undergone a service failure. In a large infrastructure like ours, there are always failures. But in our case, those failures are usually related to third parties and never due to Alteon Radware.

And with the integrated application protection, we have not suffered from attacks anymore.

Radware's visualization tool, Vision, also provides a lot of information in case of failures. It has helped us to understand very complex problems in one or two hours. It is very agile.

At the security level, it also contributes a lot. It has many security features and is very elastic and adaptable. If, for example, you have in-house security implemented, or you want to migrate it to the public or private cloud, it's very easy to change the licensing and integrate it.

The SSL uploading feature is helpful, and every vendor has it. It terminates the full connections and takes care of all the power required for the backend servers to process the SSL load. Radware Alteon also makes our environment and web applications more scalable because the devices are half-sequence and specifically designed to handle web traffic and SSL web traffic.

These devices work as hypervisors on the cluster that we have on-premises. We can run virtual applications and delivery controllers inside them. We can also isolate resources and environments. In addition, Radware Alteon has a helpful scripting engine for automation called AppShape+.

It's quite a nice solution. It's like F5. They are very good products and are very easy to use. They're very powerful, you can do a lot of things with the scripting, and also even in the interface and the graphic interface, you can configure other things without going to the scripting, to the rules.

The initial setup is easy and it was quick to deploy.

The solution has been very stable.

The most valuable aspect is the ability to customize the types of load-balancing scenarios needed for customized applications. Some of the load balancers on the market today are strictly out-of-hand load balancers for SSL or HTTP. Radware Alteon is most useful for customizing in-house applications based on ports and protocols.

Another great feature is integrated application protection. There are many features you can activate. Some of them are add-ons, such as WAF protection, DDoS, rate-limiting, and connections-per-second per application.

We also use Radware where we do all the programming.

The simple and well-documented configuration allows us to be able to implement new balancing services at the request of the user with the same conditions and good service that they expect. We can also make changes to services that are already running, as I mentioned before, the graphical interface is very intuitive and you can almost always make the most common changes quickly.

Radware has been characterized by being extremely robust. This gives us the confidence to offer our users a continuous service.

The error detection system is very valuable. When an error is encountered, the WAF blocks an illegitimate user and sends a message. The message contains a transaction ID that can be matched in the locks of the AppWall. So, it's not hard to investigate these events when people write an incident because some illegitimate user is often trying to use this web that is protected behind the WAF and getting errors.

The best thing about Radware is the command line interface which is simple and very user-friendly. This is a very good device because it's easy to configure and easy to troubleshoot. Radware provides numerous guides including configuration, CLI, and troubleshooting. That is a very useful thing to troubleshoot, to configure our Radware devices.

The link load balancing is a great feature. We use it whenever two or three different links need to be integrated for a customer. When one link goes down, it automatically switches to another.
