We use Ubiquiti for point-to-point linking. We don't use it for Wi-Fi, we use it for point links and backward links.
We are resellers of Ubiquiti and we install it for our clients.

When you compare with Mikrotik, Mikrotik is more stable than Ubiquiti because they have their own protocols. They have two protocols, proprietary protocols, and CDMA protocols. Mikrotik only uses CDMA protocols.
I would like local support from the parent company.
I have been using Ubiquiti Wireless for years and we are using the latest version.
It's a stable solution but Mikrotik offers more stability.
It's a scalable product. The scalable range is from five kilometers to forty kilometers.
Depending on the model, if we are providing Mbps, we are using a higher-end model of Ubiquiti and Mikrotik for users.
There is no technical support by parent companies. In India, there is only the import product. There is no channel or distributor of Ubiquiti or Mikrotik.
They should have local support available.
We use wireless products such as Cambium and Mikrotik.
Ubiquiti is easier to install than Mikrotik.
You can install Ubiquiti in 30 minutes, and Mikrotik will take two hours.
Ubiquiti doesn't present any issues for our engineers to maintain but Mikrotik is a bit more complicated.
We have plans to continue selling this solution.
I would recommend Ubiquiti, but my preference would be Mikrotik and that is the one that I recommend.
I would rate Ubiquiti an eight out of ten.
Our primary use case is for office networking. We are customers of Ubiquiti and I'm the IT and software manager.
This product is easy to use and it's very flexible.
It would help if the product were more secure and the controller was more user-friendly.
I've been using this solution for a couple of years.
This is a very stable solution.
This is a scalable product.
The initial setup is straightforward, I did it myself. We have around 40 users in the company. We have three or four developers who were involved in deployment and still now in the maintenance of the solution.
I'm going to continue using this solution and I recommend it.
I rate this product an eight out of 10.
The primary use case is to provide wireless access.
Ubiquiti Wireless is easy to use, it's stable and flexible, and the performance is great. It is scalable as well.
The cost could be lower.
I've been using this solution for, maybe, two or three years.
Ubiquiti Wireless is stable, and I'm quite happy with it.
It is scalable. We currently have 20 customers using this solution.
Installation is quite straightforward and quick.
I'm a managed service provider, and we deploy networks as well. I handle the network side, and the technician handles the onsite work.
There are no licensing fees for this solution, but the cost is on the higher side.
It's not a one file device. It's a whole network. It's Wi-Fi, wired, a security gateway, etc. It has all of these different components to it and is not just Wi-Fi. However, the price is on the higher side, but you're getting better equipment for it. So, I would rate Ubiquiti Wireless at nine on a scale from one to ten.
We mostly use the solution for Wi-Fi access points. Mostly it's indoors, but sometimes it's outdoors as well.
We use the solution for many of our smaller customers and the cloud management aspect of the solution is very good. If you compare it to other vendors that have a controller, it's much easier to manage the cloud-based solution because we travel a lot. It allows us to manage everything from any place.
We tried to create an access point with built-in voice and sound that we could use in schools, for example. We tried to create something that could play sounds or messages out of the access points. We wanted to, for example, use it as a school bell instead of using other equipment. It didn't work very well. It turns out when you connect to the Ubiquiti Wireless access point, it's not possible to send simple messages (like what is going on in the canteen, or some news update for the school, etc.). We had to use the on-premises version, as the cloud version wouldn't allow for this.
Ubiquiti has a lot of cool features but not everything is included in the management portal. I'd like to see a bit more added, like sound messages and the camera system. They should be part of the management platform and not part of a standalone system.
The stability is okay, but we do have problems if we use it for heavily populated areas (like an airport). We sometimes lose connectivity, but normally we use it for not so populated areas. For a normal-sized school, there's no stability problem. It works very well there because it's relatively small.
We've never had to contact technical support. We fix any problems ourselves.
The initial setup, at least the switches in and the access points, is very easy.
I handle the implementation myself. I'm a WI-FI technician, so other people tend to ask me for help.
We don't pay any licensing costs. You can choose a subscription package it you prefer, or just pay once.
We are a reseller of Ubiquiti hardware.
We always use the most up-to-date version of the solution and update it all the time. We use the private cloud deployment model. We've also used the on-premises deployment model, however, most clients prefer the private cloud.
I'd rate the solution seven out of ten.
It's useful for me because I can extend more devices to my clients so that they can connect in the summertime. In the summertime, you have high traffic because everyone is on vacation, and they can connect to a wireless solution.
I like that it's very easy and very stable. It's easy to install as well.
We need an official distributor in Egypt as we don't have one right now. Also, integration with other platforms will be good.
I've been using it for six years.
It's a very stable solution.
Sometimes, I feel it's scalable. We have 500 users of this solution.
It took 10 minutes to install one device. We needed 2 administrators for installation and maintenance.
On a scale from one to ten, I would rate Ubiquiti Wireless at ten. I strongly recommend it to others.
We've used this solution for consulting and industrial companies.
It's a good, quality product.
The pricing of the solution is excellent. It offers a great value.
The roaming between the cells could be a bit improved.
The solution should offer simpler management for guests. That would be helpful in the hospitality industry, for example.
We've been dealing with the solution for three or four years.
The solution is largely stable. Sometimes the controller crashes, however, the access points work correctly. We've found that now that they have changed the controller it's more stable. For the most part, it's okay.
The solution is very easy to scale. If a company needs to expand this solution, it can do so fairly easily.
There isn't really technical to speak of. You can't just call anyone.
You have only an online community. I only opened up one ticket to them for a personal product that I bought from them. It was a camera. The answer from the technician was via email and it took a very long to get an answer without a real solution. It's declared that you pay less due to the lack of support, and, if you need help, you go to find your answers within the community.
The initial setup is very straightforward. It's not complex at all.
Deployment is very, very fast. It only takes about three minutes or so.
We'll handle the maintenance for our client as required.
Our company can handle the implementation for our clients. However, they must read the manual and understand the solution as well.
The solution is much more affordable than other options, including Meraki and Fortinet.
All services are including in the price. You don't have to pay for add-ons, for example.
You buy it. It's easy to pay for it. After that, there's nothing else to worry about in terms of licensing. Only when it breaks do you have to worry.
The warranty for Ubiquiti is only one year. You cannot renew or extend the warranty. If after one year it's broken, you need to buy another one.
If you are comparing this solution to Cisco or Fortinet, the main difference is the price.
However, behind Fortinet and Cisco Meraki you have the support and you have a controller with more functionality. They are a different kind of product. That said, the big difference is based on the price and the budget of the customer.
We're resellers. You don't need to have a relationship with the product in order to sell it. In other cases, you need to be certified. We have certification with Fortinet and Cisco Meraki as well.
Whether or not we use the latest version of the solution depends on the clients and their needs.
Ubiquiti has both on-premise and cloud. It has a controller whereby you can access the cloud.
The solution is best suited for small to medium-sized enterprises.
I'd recommend the solution. I use it myself, and you can't beat the price.
I'd rate the solution nine out of ten. It's quite good.
Valuable features include the fact that the solution is very easy to manage. The Unify platform is very good and the Edge platform is very stable. It's a well priced solution and as far as I'm concerned, it's enterprise class. Training was easy and reasonable, and it's all very good.
There's one feature that they're missing that's critical, and that is automatic channel assignment. RF channel assignment, which their current controller is not doing. Cisco has this but Ubiquiti doesn't. The only time the channel is reassigned is during reboot of the access point. But there's no dynamic channel management and power management of the Ubiquiti gear.
I've been using this solution for four years.
The solution is stable.
It's a very scalable solution.
Ubiquiti technical support is very good.
I'm not sure about licensing but you don't have to pay for ongoing maintenance which is great.
I would highly recommend this product. Just do the training and it's great.
I would rate this product a nine out of 10.
We primarily use the solution for wireless office or home networks.
In general, I like the solution very much. The solution has simple management. It's easy to use.
The ability to walk between access points without losing the network is very useful.
Wireless options are pretty easy to buy in Ukraine.
Their hardware is very good.
The company is always innovating on the product. They are continuously working to make it better.
In Ukraine at least, it's a problem when it comes to buying the hardware. For example, I made a request for 20 switches a few months ago. The solution needs to have worldwide availability.
I want to get more experienced with switching hardware, however, I need more documentation in order to understand it.
I don't know why they don't sell it like hardware for data centers. For example, I have a Juniper switch which costs $3,000. There's a similar Juniper switch-like item with the same characteristics and it costs $7,700. Marketing shows that it's only for offices and other stuff. For home, for office, but not for the data center. I don't know why.
I've been using the solution for three or four years.
The solution is very stable. It's reliable. There aren't bugs or glitches. It doesn't freeze or anything like that. It's good.
The scalability is quite good. If a company needs to expand out the solution they can do so easily.
We have a little less than 50 users on the solution.
We do plan to continue to use the product and may increase usage in the future.
We've found that their online resources are excellent. We've found every answer we needed online, therefore, we've never had to call them up directly.
We did use another solution before this product. It was cheap. However, it was a long time ago, and I can't recall the name of the solution. We switched due to the fact that we were looking to simplify the host management. This solution offered very simple management. That's why we're looking to switch from Juniper to Ubiquiti in our data center. We spend less time managing our hardware.
However, at this point, we aren't able to buy the hardware we need in our country.
The initial setup is not complex. The implementation was very straightforward and simple.
In terms of deployment, a wireless setup takes about 15 minutes or so. It's pretty fast.
In terms of maintenance, you only need one admin person to handle it.
I handled the implementation myself. I didn't need the assistance of any integrators or consultants.
We're pretty big users. We have a 1,000 server center.
We're using the latest version of the solution.
We use a hardware deployment with UDM pro or Cloud Key.
I would recommend the solution to other organizations.
Overall, I'd rate the solution nine out of ten, simply due to a few problems we have obtaining the hardware.
