Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It is easier to use than most other products that are out there.""Upgrades were pretty straightforward. CA took care of everything, we just did the testing.""Demand, Resource, Project Portfolio Management, for my business consulting services, PMO services to other clients.""Having information all together in one single source.""We also have integration with CA Agile Central. So we get all the project-related data and the user stories-related data into it and we report on to that: How much funding is there, and how much are the actuals between these two tools?""Transparency and just having the ability to procure information that is pertinent.""The most useful feature for me as an implementer of Broadcom Clarity PPM is its extensibility. The tool is pretty extensible, and I haven't had any issues with it in terms of it getting used for multiple scenarios and for multiple clients where there's a need for high customization. Broadcom Clarity PPM is a very, very customizable tool, so you can pretty much implement any business process on it with no issues.""It has been able to collect all the data, and in some ways, provide dashboards of aggregated data. "

"I like the update feature. It's almost like you can replace email with it. You can communicate on a particular item within monday.com, and then you can see the history of who commented, when they commented, what they said, and the reply to what they said. It's much easier to follow up on a particular item than have a thousand emails going back and forth. In a big project, you can usually have a ton of emails. If you use monday.com as a communication tool, you can almost eliminate email and have better tracking on what was done, when it was done, and what was said about the items. That's probably my favorite feature.""With the work boards easy to convert to Gantt charts, valuable time is saved when preparing for project meetings.""Pretty much everything is customizable and easily editable.""Alerts come in pretty handy every once in a while just to keep up.""I like how you can trigger notifications and reminders automatically when different statuses are changed or updated.""monday.com increased the efficiency of the teams using it, thereby decreasing costs. We needed fewer people to do the same amount of work once the tasks were organized and presented in a simple way.""It works perfectly and runs very smoothly.""In short - it keeps a remote asynchronous team in sync."

Cons
"I want to see integration for SMS functionality.""They need something so that if we, say, send some sheets to users, or for the scenario where not everybody has access to Clarity, but are part of planning; those people should be able to upload data directly to Clarity.""I think user-friendliness is the key. Right now it's really clunky. We're also looking to upgrade, but an upgrade is not going to fix everything. The new UX is good, but there are still a lot of limitations. Once they work through those kinks and get those limitations removed, we'll be able to upgrade.""Build more capability and unification into the reporting.""I am going to be maintaining both new UX screens, which the blueprints make look like it is going to be really easy, but we would still have to be maintaining new UX screens as well as classic views for those functionalities that are not yet available in the new UX.""I would like to be able to do time submission and time approvals on mobile rather than have to go in the system.""A little bit better financial management. Right now it is more accountant-related, the financial management - of course, it's finance, it has to be financial. But it should be a little bit easier for project managers.""I would really like a modern UI. I do not want to get on a user interface and feel like I am in the 1990's."

More Broadcom Clarity Cons →

"I wish the Time Tracking features were a little more robust.""Load time and glitches do occur on the site.""While great, the shareable boards lack some features that normal boards possess and that’s a big burden for us.""I would enjoy my own personal board on Monday that only I can see.""It would be beneficial to have the ability to toggle between the traditional Monday.com pulse view and a monthly calendar view.""It would be great if there was a setting where you could customize the email reminders.""The key limitation I face is that I don't find the tool to be fully intuitive as more time is required for me to learn how to use it optimally.""It spams my inbox with many unwanted emails."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "For all the functionalities of the solution, the price is in the market range, since it is a product which offers governance issues and supports the digital transformation, which is where we will go in the next year."
  • "Better understanding of requirements and how it will be implemented (with number of licenses for a given budget) would help."
  • "It is a little bit costly compared to others, but it is mature. Customer should understand this product is geared towards project management, not financial management."
  • "It is hard for them to say, "I have a person on my team who is going to be available, I am going to move that task to them". That requires a project management license, it doesn't require a team member license, so the licensing model does not sometimes support the way the business world is going."
  • "We're also moving to the latest version for less than $20,000 for a major corporate system. It's just amazing."
  • "Broadcom Clarity PPM costs us $500K, and that's only for the installation and kick off within the first year. For each succeeding year, it could cost $200K."
  • "There are different licensing models with Broadcom Clarity PPM. With the software as a service model, you pay as you go, and if you are on-premises, you can buy a perpetual license and an annual fee for maintenance."
  • "Cost-wise, the tool is very expensive and some tools might be able to cater to 80% of the functionality provided by Broadcom Clarity PPM but are not as expensive."
  • More Broadcom Clarity Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "I wasn't involved with the licensing, but I believe it's negotiable."
  • "The solution is quite inexpensive. For example, we pay $8,500 for 75 users. It's somewhere around $100 a user, approximately."
  • "The project manager would be responsible for any licensing fees. As an end-user, we just follow suit."
  • "Fees are paid monthly per user."
  • "The price is reasonable for the number of users we have."
  • "I am using its free version."
  • "We tell others it's about $2200 for a ten-person plan and it can be adjusted; it's easy to scale."
  • "monday.com's pricing is fair compared to its competitors, although it is a bit more expensive than most of them. It's more expensive than Jira, Zoho, ClickUp, and Trello. But it is fairly priced when you compare the kinds of features and the capabilities that you get and the ROI."

    Reviews from Real Users

monday.com stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its task status feature and its ability to integrate with external apps. PeerSpot users take note of the advantages of these features in their reviews:

Ben D., Front End Developer at a marketing services firm, writes of the product, “Their flagship feature, what used to be called the pulse, is great. Pulse offers great management. Being able to see everything at a glance and check task status, is wonderful. They use subtasks and the simple aspects of task management have been really helpful.”

Another PeerSpot reviewer, the Head of Projects at Smart Media SA, notes, “The boards offer an amazing and clear view of my tasks, campaigns, and progress. Automations especially with Slack and Outlook help with keeping my team up-to-date always. Graphs and charts are valuable for reporting purposes and to track progress made. Workforms/surveys are valuable and a very cool added feature.”
