We performed a comparison between IBM BPM and NGINX Plus based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Application Infrastructure solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The initial setup is straightforward and easy. I would give it a nine out of ten."
"The designer feature, compared to other solutions is easy to use."
"With the tester coach wherein you can interact with the interface while you're designing the process."
"This solution has always been lacking in the user interface (UI), it needed to be improved a lot. However, from the acquisition of Spark UI, the UI is much better. Overall the solution is robust and has the ability to integrate with any product for complex workflows."
"Technical support is pleasant to work with and always available."
"IBM BPM and Automation Anywhere working together automate manual tasks with a reduction in FTEs, creating about a 30% reduction in FTEs by automating processes."
"There are a lot of things that you get out-of-the-box: Timers and so on, which took a lot of effort and code before."
"The Process Designer is good. We like how we can drag and drop and link the processes up, that works out great for us."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is that it is simple to configure."
"Nginx is simple to configure, very stable in a highly utilized environment and very modular, allowing DevOps to create it's own modules for interactive use with Nginx."
"When you use NGINX, you have more options and power."
"The most valuable features are the gateway and the ability to publish to sites."
"The web proxy and the database proxy are excellent."
"I need to highlight that the number one thing about NGINX is that it is free."
"NGINX Plus also has NGINX App Protect. It's a separate module, which is inspired by the F5 apps."

"I'm hearing things might be improving, to really deliver on BPM as opposed to simply workflow. That really should be emphasized a lot more than it has been, because a lot of customers will simply implement the process and leave it there, because the product maybe doesn't emphasize BPM as much as it should, as much as maybe they talk about it in the sales process. The whole idea of BPM, is to iteratively improve the process, and in order to do that you have to have the analytics tool with it. A lot of times that doesn't go as far as it should simply because there's a lot more work to be done for that to happen, and just some sort of technical limitations that don't make that as easy as it should be."
"The cost of the solution has room for improvement."
"We would appreciate more user-friendly definitions of processes with a more user-friendly interface for documenting processes."
"You must have good experience to work with it. It is not that easy. Its installation is complex, especially in the new version for business automation, and it could be improved. It has a safety application embedded inside it, and you need to do a lot of configuration to install it. I have been working for two days to resolve an issue."
"Finding errors and bugs on the system is not easy. We can't seem to use the events or logs to find them, so it makes it difficult to debug the system. They really need to work on their debugging features to make is much, much easier. It would improve the solution considerably and should be something they add in a future release."
"We had hoped that the product would provide us with plug-ins like Salesforce. Its development environment needs to improve. We expect to see elastic features like containerization. We don't just need an on-prem virtual machine."
"The price and the overall installation process could be improved."
"IBM BPM integrated with Spark UI and the UI is now much better, but they still need to improve the UI because competitors have predefined templates and other additional features. In these competitor's solutions, you are able to use the templates, map your data, and the form is ready to use. With this solution, you need to write a lot of code to have the same quality as the competitor's templates. It would be a benefit to make this platform more towards low-code or no-code."
"NGINX is a very basic load balancer and cannot do as many customizations as F5."
"NGINX Plus is moderately priced, but it could give better value for money."
"There is room for improvement in the pricing model."
"Our most challenging part was to run an older PHP website reverse-proxied through NGINX. That was not fun."
"The drawback is that you must obtain a license for everything."
"They should do in the open source version of what they did to Advanced HTTP, TCP, and UDP load balancing."
"The scaling should be built into the software rather than configured from an outside source."
"The KPI should be more focused on load balancing and the latency in application calling from the end system."
