We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The scalability is a valuable feature, that we're able to display our documents to so many people.""The tool is a very stable solution with high availability and no information leakage. It has built-in API integration on-site. You can integrate with other components and applications like SAP, Microsoft, Oracle, etc.""The vertical scalability, as we can use it across some of our applications.""The content management is all about you as you can make the same content for minimal purpose solutions applications."

"WebCenter's interface is very user-friendly.""The WebCenter Content is its most valuable feature. After we update a document in WebCenter Content, it can be update automatically in our intranet.""You can move workloads in between sub-servers so that you don't overload a portion of the server.""It's a very scalable solution and the performance is pretty good. The scalability, in my opinion, is the biggest advantage.""Integration within the solution is very good.""A great solution for storing and searching large volumes of documents with easy access.""Oracle integrates well with other products to cover Big Data."

Cons
"I think it's already getting away from Java applets. A lot of our users struggle with keeping up to date with Java versioning, so a lot of the functions they're doing, like printing, emailing, and even some of the viewing, they're struggling with.""The development platform is not local. For example, you need 100 days in IBM, whereas other platforms, like ServiceNow, need only 20 days.""I would like to see seamless application integration.""I would recommend not going with ECM 8 and going with FileNet instead. It seems like that is the future of the lower-volume repository. It seems like they are moving away from ECM 8.5 so I think we're going to have some challenges coming up, getting off of that technology."

More IBM ECM Cons →

"Its functions need more stability.""This solution needs to support translation into the Arabic language.""WebCenter requires a lot of design effort to upload content to our regular system.""Does not seem to be totally compatible with Windows 10 as of our current version.""The speed of the backup should be enhanced.""There are many document management systems that offer pretty much the same functionalities but at a lower price. The product as such is pretty good. However, the pricing is not comparable. They need to adjust their pricing to be more competitive on the market.""The solution should be offered in Persian. Right now, our version is in English, and there's a bit of a language barrier between the users and the product.""I would like them to add more Web 2.0 features."
