Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"We have over 1,000 users using the solution in our organization and the solution has been able to handle it.""I have found the security, device, web and application controls to be the most valuable features.""Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business's most valuable feature is the ease of management.""It has helped our company protect the confidential data of our customers.""Endpoint Security's most valuable feature is its heuristic analysis. This heuristic approach means that it learns from its past experiences. It is the most valuable feature they have. This contributes to dealing with ransomware, detection, and early mitigation actions.""This solution is stable.""Antivirus, including anti-spam, trojan, and worm detection and prevention. Kaspersky has a comprehensive virus definition update which is very helpful for threat prevention.""We have had no troubles installing, maintaining, or deploying the product for our clients."

"I like how when you click on the device, it shows you everything that has changed as well as the software versioning. I am really enjoying the inventory aspect of it.""When vulnerabilities are exploited so much, it is nice to be able to quickly detect or deploy what is needed within our off-work hours or during work hours without a reboot.""With KACE, we were able to have a simplification of the software deployment management with more granularity and flexibility.""We can get the majority of what we need with this product and do not have to spend money on something else.""The single pane of glass for managing devices is helpful because it allows me to perform updates and control things without having to disturb the doctors or nurses.""The service desk can be configured and customized to better serve our environment.""We're able to deploy software and push out fixes to endpoints faster than ever.""The solution provides us a single pane of glass with everything that we need for endpoint management of all devices. It definitely has made our endpoint management process much easier."

Cons
"When I do a malware scan on my computer it takes a long while. This process could improve in the future. Additionally, the security could improve.""I would like to see machine learning and AI as added features.""We would like it so that if a user uses it on-premises, the server should use fewer hardware resources.""I would like to have more forensic features. For example, if we are hit by an attack, I would like to have tools to investigate what kind of attack, who has attacked, how it was attacked, and what we could do to stop this kind of attack in the future. I would like to have more forensics capability built into Kaspersky.""There should be some AI involved. We already have machine learning involved in recent releases but machine learning should be more enhanced in the upcoming versions.""I would like for Kaspersky to generate reports when it detects issues such as malware.""The product needs to incorporate training programs or webinars for users. The solution needs to improve its support as well. It also needs to detect ransomware.""he next thing that I would like to see in this solution are DLP features."

"It could be designed a little bit more intuitively in terms of administration.""It took a little bit of time to figure out how to use the KACE Service Desk. I like the way that I'm able to customize it. But when it comes to how our techs are able to use it, it's not as functional as our current solution, which is BMC FootPrints Service Desk.""The customization of the interface needs improvement for things like end user tickets. While the functionality is good, some of that UI stuff does need improvement.""There may be a good reason why some things are not easily able to be done, yet it needs work to compete with some of the other ticketing systems out there now.""They could make the booting solution easier for different things, e.g., easier to insert drivers. They could make it easier to create a new image and put it onto the server. Those would be some nice solutions. They could make it so that somebody who has no knowledge at all can do it. That would be really nice. Because every time, until I get it memorized, I still need to go back to the training, the manual, or Google it to figure it out again. If they would make it a lot easier, to where a nine-year-old could do it, that would be really cool. If they made it easier, I could have more people managing the images on the server, instead of just one or two people.""It is a little bit difficult to use the license compliances because you need to decide when you are using the software catalog if you are using it with their license compliance or the normal software part. Under the inventory, you can use software as a menu link or software catalog. Most of my specialist software is not in the software catalog. When I try to import them, in my license compliances overview, there are cryptic names for this software that I have to import. That is not very good for the reports that I use. When I take them to my bosses, they see cryptic names of software that they don't understand. It would be much better for me if I could use software and the software catalog as well for the license compliances.""The problem is that it's harder to directly emulate a lot of the stuff that the group policies do, using the KACE solution. With regular group policies, you just specify the various settings you want to change on the workstations, and then you specify the workstations and—while it's kind of an ugly mess—it does it. Whereas on KACE, you really have to know what you're doing with scripting to effectively script those exact same changes.""The GUI needs some work. I love all that it can do, however, it can be just be so cluttered at times."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Pricing is very competitive and licensing is very much ethical."
  • "The licensing is based per agent. You can get discounts if you have more agents."
  • "It is quite standard, because we use the volume licensing."
  • "It is a cost-effective endpoint security service."
  • "I received a very good deal with Kaspersky."
  • "It is a cost-effective product."
  • "The licensing is fine, and it is well within reasonable rates."
  • "It's a little more expensive compared to other competitors like Symantec."
  • More Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "It may be more expensive, but you get what you pay for."
  • "It was a very attractive price. This is a huge feature of this product. If you would "credit score" this product versus others out there on the market, this one has a very attractive price."
  • "We need it, so we have to pay the price. It is what it is. If you need a gallon of milk, then you have to pay the price for it. You don't want to buy the cheap stuff. You want to buy the stuff that is organic and good for your body, which doesn't have all this other junk in it. You want it clean for your body. Quest has done that for our deployment and management systems."
  • "Licensing is done on a per device basis, so it's dependent on how many agents you've got installed."
  • "Its pricing model is good for what it offers. Nobody here gives me a hard time about renewing the contract every year. It might be a little cost prohibitive for a smaller company who has to stand up a virtual environment as well as have virtual environment licensing and the hardware. If you have a smaller environment, it might be cost prohibitive. If you only have a couple of hundred computers, you might be more willing to do those manually. In our environment, the cost savings of having KACE far outweigh the licensing costs. We are okay with its pricing model."
  • "We buy consulting fees from Software Factory, then we pay extra for it."
  • "We are a university. So, we have a very good price for the system. I think the price for the system is worth it because of the security patch management. The security patch management is very important for us. The price is very good for KACE SMA, the functionality you get, and the patch management."
  • "We are also saving on the licensing fee, compared to other endpoint management solutions."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by PeerSpot users currently using the Quest KACE Systems Management solution.

Tim H., Laboringenieur, Computeringenieur at HTW Berlin, says, "The scripting part increases IT productivity because of the specialized software in our environments for students' courses. You need to use software which is not programmed by developers. A lot of software for building houses or other things is developed by normal guys, who do not have much skill in programming. When you need to install this type of software, it is very difficult. You have to install registry keys, etc. For that, it is very good to use the scripting part of this solution. So, you can automate this part as well."

Chris H., Director of IT at CCOF, mentions, "The big pros of Quest KACE Systems Management are its simple interface, and simple, direct management. It's very easy to maintain and manage the device, and it's easy to get it up and running. You can have it up and running in an hour."
