We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Being able to search is valuable. Its search is pretty powerful. We are able to search for specific text, and it points us to the document that has that text. That is pretty powerful.""Scalability is great. We can extend areas horizontally and vertically.""Being able to tag metadata on documents and being able to have different workspaces in there for our documents is valuable. We do loan documents, and different types of documents have different types of retentions. We are able to categorize based on that, and we are able to do tag searching to find what we are looking for.""OpenText Extended ECM's most valuable features include permissions and security models. I also like the tool's ability to add metadata and use it to categorize information.""The integration of a document management platform with many other applications, e.g. SAP, SuccessFactors, Salesforce, SharePoint, etc.""Retention is useful. I have been pleased with the search functionality and the extensibility for tying it into integrations with other systems and building workflows on top of it.""An SAP user can store documents directly into OpenText without a connector.""Smart Viewing videos are most valuable for the end users. The end users like the look and feel of Smart View. It's similar to SharePoint, with the latest HTML5 features, filters, and everything. It's like online shopping."

"Integration within the solution is very good.""WebCenter's interface is very user-friendly.""The WebCenter Content is its most valuable feature. After we update a document in WebCenter Content, it can be update automatically in our intranet.""A great solution for storing and searching large volumes of documents with easy access.""Oracle integrates well with other products to cover Big Data.""You can move workloads in between sub-servers so that you don't overload a portion of the server.""It's a very scalable solution and the performance is pretty good. The scalability, in my opinion, is the biggest advantage."

Cons
"The tool's documentation is not proper and has missing information like steps.""The solution needs to improve the user interface.""There are no additional features that I would like to see. I am pretty happy with it, but their support could be a bit better.""Initially there can be stability issues due to unknown factors such as usage of the system, quantity of documents ingested, load during peak hours.""User interface needs improvement (at least in the version we are using, desktop client).""I have not used it enough to start running into issues. Some of my technical guys could name a couple of things, but in terms of support, we did have challenges getting good responses from them.""OpenText Extended ECM's user interface could be improved.""A dashboard with information would be nice to see."

"Does not seem to be totally compatible with Windows 10 as of our current version.""WebCenter requires a lot of design effort to upload content to our regular system.""This solution needs to support translation into the Arabic language.""The solution should be offered in Persian. Right now, our version is in English, and there's a bit of a language barrier between the users and the product.""There are many document management systems that offer pretty much the same functionalities but at a lower price. The product as such is pretty good. However, the pricing is not comparable. They need to adjust their pricing to be more competitive on the market.""The speed of the backup should be enhanced.""Its functions need more stability.""I would like them to add more Web 2.0 features."
