It requires substantially experienced, in-house data operations staff for management of Zapier.com.

What is most valuable?

Its integrating feature, especially Facebook Lead Ad Forms to Gmail integration, is the most valuable feature of this product.

How has it helped my organization?

This product has made our daily reporting task simpler, by automating and integrating different apps. Now we can automate our campaign leads directly to our clients' Gmail accounts.

What needs improvement?

  • The Google Analytics integrations (especially the Facebook Lead Forms to Google Analytics)
  • HubSpot, that leads to Android phone integration

I have been using this product since December, 2017.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I haven't encountered any stability issues.

I haven't encountered any scalability issues.

How are customer service and technical support?

The technical support is good. They respond to our doubts and queries, without any delay, through the registered Gmail ID.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have tried a few solutions for automation, but they didn't support all the apps nor fully serve my purpose. Those are the reasons why I switched.

How was the initial setup?

The initial process is quite straightforward.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Use the free work plan, then you can upgrade to the higher plans. Considering its use, the pricing is pretty good.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I tried the free version of HubSpot before this.

What other advice do I have?

Just try integrating a few basic apps with the free plan or maybe with the $20 work plan. After you get the basics, which are quite easy to learn, you can try the higher plans and more complex integrations.

What is most valuable?

Automatic connections between CRM and the email system is the most valuable feature.

What needs improvement?

I had to disconnect it, because it was not working right. Our CRM system is not well-known, so I think that was part of the problem.

Customer service could be better. When I asked questions about how to connect it again, I was told it could not be done. I know that is not correct, because Zapier does have connections with our email system.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have used this solution for a few months and then I disconnected it.

How is customer service and technical support?

The technical support is low.

How was the initial setup?

The setup was only complex because I had to use WebHook.

We did not look at other solutions.

What other advice do I have?

I am sure it is a great product, if you have someone who understands your email system to advise you accordingly.

What is our primary use case?

We use this solution to integrate different third-party software. We use it with service management software such as Zendesk, Freshworks and Jira. When events take place in that software, we use Zapier to pick up that event and perform specific actions. It is used to integrate a number of different solutions. 

What is most valuable?

The most valuable aspect of this solution is that it is very intuitive and has a very flat learning curve.

What needs improvement?

Some recent changes to the solution have made it bulky and not as intuitive to use as it previously was. 

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

This is a scalable solution. 

How are customer service and support?

We have not needed any major technical support.

How was the initial setup?

This solution is very easy to start using.

There are three variations of pricing. We use the middle one.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend Zapier to anybody that is trying to do a similar kind of integration or who has a similar kind of business use case.

We integrate with Zapier, allowing our users to use their services. So, it's important that I am up-to-date on how we can use Zapier to integrate with other platforms.

How has it helped my organization?

We integrate with Zapier, thus allowing our users to use their services.

On a personal level, I used Zapier to automate otherwise tedious and manual tasks. For example, my team maintains the Help Center and we collect feedback on how the content could be improved. One way is that whenever someone wants to suggest an improvement, they can do it by answering a few questions in a Typeform. When they submit the Typeform, a Trello card is generated via a Zap that I have set up, so it is added to our backlog.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have used this solution for two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

There were no stability issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

There were no scalability issues.

How is customer service and technical support?

The technical support team is very helpful.

How was the initial setup?

The setup is not the easiest thing but absolutely learnable. They have improved the UX a lot in the past two years, i.e., ever since I started using Zapier.

If they get stuck, they should check out the help documentation for answers.

How has it helped my organization?

It allowed us to create integrations between our own proprietary operations tool, and a variety of other tools like Salesforce, Slack, and HubSpot. Zapier, combined with MailParser, is an essential element of our back-end operations. It allows us to maintain dynamic datasets about customers and sales without a ton of overhead.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using this solution for three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

There were not stability issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

There were not scalability issues. This tool is what allows our company to scale.

How are customer service and technical support?

I've never contacted their support, so I can't say, but their support documentation is always helpful.

I'm not aware of others who can do what Zapier does.

It is a bit complex to learn how webhooks work and how to leverage them. The initial learning curve can be steep, particularly for non-technical people. Once you've learned it, it's quite simple/straightforward. The tool makes it as simple as possible.

We did not evaluate other options.

What other advice do I have?

Be patient and really think about which actions you want automated before you set anything up. Planning and labeling are key to staying organized.

The visual display of connections, say, in a process map; not really high priority, more of a nice to have.

We did have stability issues, at one point every week. This was 3 years ago.

Technical support is fantastic; top notch. One of the co-founders took time to look into one of our problems.

Setup is fairly straightforward. It is a pretty intuitive UX.

Create a QA environment and play with the triggers to your heart’s content. Intentionally try to break the zaps.

What is most valuable?

Webhooks and multi-step zaps are the most valuable features. We can use custom code (JavaScript and Python) to build custom features into the platform.

How has it helped my organization?

For example, in Pipedrive, you do not get a notification when a deal is added via a web form. With Zapier, you can do that. (This feature is being implemented in Pipedrive in the near future, but right now Zapier has a good workaround.)

What needs improvement?

Right now, Zaps only run once. Also, you cannot do automations in bulk.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have used Zapier for about two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We only had a a stability issue once where Zapier had downtime. Other than that, it’s been working fine.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Zapier is good for small businesses, but it’s not reliable enough for large enterprise businesses where you need to automate business critical services.

It’s good for simple stuff, such as when a deal gets to a specific stage. It automatically adds a new activity. Notifications sync with different cloud services.

How are customer service and technical support?

I would give technical support a rating of 10/10.

Zapier was my first trigger-based automation platform.

How was the initial setup?

The first time setup was a little bit confusing. However, I was able to get the hang of it within a couple of days of experimenting.

It’s a cheap option if you want to automate more than three or four automation flows. However, it is expensive if you simply want to automatically get notifications from your service.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

There were no other options that I knew of at the time. Now there are good alternatives, such as Automate.io, APIANT, and Flow XO.

What other advice do I have?

Check out Zapier apps. It gives you many more options to play around with in Zapier.
