Citrix ShareFile Pricing

I give the cost of the solution a five out of five.

I know that when we used the solution, we changed our pricing plan. This was because it became more cost-effective to set up users on the fly when needed on the ShareFile portal, rather than having the active directory plugin, which would have cost an extra couple of hundred dollars.

The Active Directory Snap-on that ShareFile users could use to integrate their Active Directory infrastructure had a cost associated with it. Therefore, the company I worked for decided to remove the Active Directory Snap-on and create new users manually if needed. Creating a new user on the SharedFile Platform took approximately one minute.

Currently, the licensing type is a subscription. It's paid every year. If you're going with endpoint management, Citrix Endpoint Management, or XenMobile, then they might give the ShareFile solution licenses t a lower cost.

I don't handle the sales and the pricing part, so I’m not 100% sure on how everything works. It's managed by a different unit here.

There're not many additional costs for the license fee. The price will be very compatible with or less than any other products you have on the market.

Licensing is subscription based and although there is a monthly and three monthly option, we recommend our clients take an annual or three-year subscription which works out to be more economical than the short term options. We have five customers who use ShareFile.

If you are already a Citrix customer, I recommend having the Platinum licensing level, as it provides licensing for a number of various features that all integrate together.

Our pricing used to be based on user-count, bandwidth and storage. The pricing model has been greatly simplified (user-count, flat storage allocation, unlimited bandwidth) and much more storage (we're at 1TB) is now available. We actually saw a dramatic price decrease as the pricing model changed about two years into our usage. We do pay quarterly, which I think lowers the cost a bit. I think there is some room to negotiate with Citrix. There are some potentially useful add-ons (e.g., document signing) that we don't utilize that adds to the cost.

I feel that you can buy fewer licenses and either share them amongst users or assign someone to upload the file, and generate link/send email.
