We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Stable product with straightforward setup.""XenDesktop has helped our users to work remotely with a better user experience.""It provides all of the features required for the protection of data. For example, we don't want to allow any copy/paste of data to an outside environment, and we are able to restrict the VDI to not allow any data transfer from the VDI to the local laptop's hard drives. That is one of the greatest advantages the solution provides.""I use Citrix DaaS to connect to devices.""The most valuable feature is how secure the solution is.""It has improved delivering applications to remote locations with its lower bandwidth utilization.""The most valuable feature is the ability to connect to our on-premise applications, through the Workspace app and the Workspace experience. The user experience when using the solution's technology remotely is good. Our users are able to work and it's seamless. The performance is also good.""Citrix is one of the companies that is delivering virtual apps and desktops in a big way. They are mature enough to understand the level of stability required and deliver it."

"The multiple connect methods really help with users who are not tech savvy or knowledgeable about their own computers.""LogMeIn is a remote tool that I use for remote solutions.""The most valuable feature is the ability for people to use LogMeIn's app that we install with our software, to bring us online with one click, so we can view their computer screens. It's easy and a lot of folks like it.""I tried different software out there and LogMeIn Rescue has the best compatibility. Something else might work, but you have conflict with so many networks. LogMeIn has the best ratio of almost 99% connection. Whereas, with some other software, you are lucky if you get 80%.""No issues with scalability. It is a fairly simple model. If I wanted to add five more, I would just buy five more people and licenses, apply the program to their computers, and give them their login.""Being able to reboot computers into safe mode, when needed. That has come in handy in regards to IT troubleshooting.""The solution has been in the market for the past 20 years. For us, it is one of the best tools.""The ability see iOS devices helps us out a lot because the majority of our users are iOS device users."

Cons
"It would help if it were a little simpler. It's a bit complicated and we have hired Citrix administrators. But it's a good solution.""There is room for improvement because it has a lot of dependency on Active Directory and other things. If they could come up with something similar and native, a complete solution portfolio would help.""The speed and connectivity of Citrix DaaS could be improved.""Our experience of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops is good, but the environment can become complex and difficult to manage at times.""The monitoring and management is in need of improvement.""Pricing and technical support needs improvement.""Tech support can be slow if you do not receive help from the US representatives.""If anything could be improved, it might be some of the Director functionality, and some of the dashboard customization, or the overall Director customization."

More Citrix DaaS (formerly Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops service) Cons →

"I would like to see a mobile client that would work on an iPad, so I do not always have to be on a PC or a full-blown Mac operating system.""The interface is not user-friendly. It looks a little outdated. I think the options are there. I think just the layout needs improvement.""The pricing, is a little on the high end but it's proven itself to be worth it for sure.""They need to combine computer and mobile end-user support to be a more streamlined experience.""Nothing's perfect but I think it's really a great tool just the way it is. The suggestion that I made to them at their user advisory board is that they combine the two products, Rescue and Central, into one because you really should have both. A bunch of the other people in that meeting very much liked that.""You should be able to remote on an iPhone like you remote on an Android. It is not the same experience. Unless you are very savvy on iOS, you are pretty much lost.""I occasionally need to reboot my computer after using LogMeIn, due to an issue with IE. It stops responding to keyboard input every once in a while, after disconnecting from a session. A reboot resolves it.""I do wish there was an application to manage all of the admin properties of the subscription, rather than having to use the web portal."

  • "It is quite expensive, but so are the competitors on the market."

  • "The only downside is pricing. I think each technician license is somewhere around $100 or $120 a month now. So if you have a lot of technicians, it can get expensive, for a small business."
  • "It is on the medium to high side. For us, it is worth it. For the amount of time they save us, it pretty much pays for itself."
  • "Look at the different plans they have. Do not pay for a plan you do not need."
  • "The pricing is a little on the higher side, though."
  • "Pricing is reasonable and easily offsets other costs, while resolving issues in a much quicker timeframe."
  • "The cost of LogMeIn is high... I went with another product that was going to give me savings of 50%. One technician tested it, he gave us the thumbs up. Then once we moved all my technicians to it, but it didn’t work... Trying to move from LogMeIn hindered our performance and productivity and it was not worth the savings."
  • "It's definitely worth the value."
  • "The rescue model is licensed by user."
