We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The pricing is great and very reasonable.""The most valuable feature of Fortinet FortiGate is security. They are known for efficiency and are on the top of Gartner Quadrant reviews. Fortinet FortiGate has an easy-to-use platform with a good graphical interface. The configuration is simple and the solution provides an overall good layer of security.""It is very flexible to use.""You can create multiple Virtual Domains (VDOMs), which are treated as separate firewall instances.""The most important features with FortiGate are the web filter and application controls. We can control our internet usage and use the web filter for application purposes.""Overall, the pricing of the solution is very good. The product offers good value.""Their proxy-based inspection is responsive and secure.""Fortinet FortiGate is easy to use."

"All of the features in this solution are effective and efficient.""Compared to other firewalls, the segmentation is much easier in FortiGate.""The solution provides good firewall and antivirus protection.""The solution constantly adds features that are useful and user-friendly such as the ability to tweak firewalls through the CLI.""For ten to 12 years it has been quite secure.""The most valuable features of Fortinet FortiOS are its constant updates and definitions.""All networks are security-driven, we get throughputs and security. We feel that the people at Fortinet are easy to deal with from a support standpoint. If they need to jump in and help us, they're very willing to do that. Their email filtering, their data loss prevention, their intrusion prevention, type of products in the newest OSs has been outstanding.""It's very easy to use."

"The solution is scalable.""The visibility and log availability offered are highly valued for troubleshooting purposes, and this is a key factor driving customer interest in the firewall module.""Most of the features that Zscaler has to offer, we will deploy.""Once you have Zscaler running you have access to configure it however you want.""Includes advanced tech protection.""I like the ease of deployment and its flexibility. We don't need to deal with license, quotes, procurement, delivery, and installation. Everything is software-based, and it's very easy to operate.""It is a stable solution.""The scalability is okay. We have around 2200 people using this solution."

Cons
"The reports are very basic.""There can be more security in hybrid implementations. When a customer has a hybrid environment where some parts are in the cloud, we need a consistent security solution for such scenarios.""The performance could be a bit better. Right now, I find it to be lacking. Having good performance is very important for our work.""They should offer special pricing to premium partners and customers.""Fortinet FortiGate can improve by integrating the web application firewall and the DDoS protection part of the solution. Having a WAF feature, web application firewall, and proxy together would be a good benefit.""Currently, without the additional reporting module, we only have access to basic reporting.""The UTM filtering needs improvement.""We had a minor problem where there was a major system upgrade on the hardware platfrom and the Mac client was not available as soon as it might have been. The PC client was available immediately, but we had to wait a month or so, before there was a mac client. I was slightly irritated that it was not ready on time, but it was eventually resolved."

More Fortinet FortiGate Cons →

"You can enable and disable certain modules in it. However, with disabling, nobody can really tell us if that module is disabled.""I want to see a better integration or a better integration with the endpoint protection or with EDR with the security life cycle.""Some features I have found to be hidden and cannot be accessed through the graphical user interface, you can only access them through the command-line interface(CLI). All the features should be accessible through the graphical user interface.""In the future I would like to see more user-friendly dashboards and a drop in the price.""I would like to see smaller and more frequent updates.""The GUI could be improved to make it more usable, easier to administer, and easier to configure.""The solution needs to adjust its pricing models. With the way they are structured, everything is very disparate and sold separately, and, depending on the solution, it can get quite pricey.""For me, it is important to be able to block VPN applications, like Facebook, so I would like to see that included in the next release. With this version, if you want to block or allow a site, you now have to drag all the domains related to this site."

More Fortinet FortiOS Cons →

"Zscaler Cloud Firewall should have a better understanding of all dynamic cloud applications.""Data Leak Prevention is only for web filtering and there is no protection for email.""There are some areas it could improve when it comes to blocking, we have to block some things manually. For example, if we block a top-level domain we have seen that the new IPs come through, the IPs are not blocked. There should be some more granular way of doing it. My only request is if you're blocking something at a top level, the sub-level sub-domains and all those other IPs should be blocked too automatically.""Because it's on cloud, it doesn't allow application of extra settings.""Instead of the standard license, they should certainly provide customers with the visibility to access and view the logs.""It would be better if they improved their policy, package visibility, and flexibility while we're creating rules for inspection. It could also be cheaper or more things could be included in the basic package. In the next release, I would like better coverage in the Asia Pacific region and better quality of service.""Certain criteria need to be met if you want to scale this solution.""It would be nice to have some sort of a form factor, a physical form factor perhaps, or virtual machine that you could install on devices or on a cloud, and have some cloud computing."
